THE FLYING FLAMINGO SISTERS
This hilarious, heartfelt and soaring adventure will delight fans of 'The Goonies' and 'Indiana Jones'.
When their ace pilot parents (and adorable puppy) mysteriously disappear over the Pacific, the Flamingo Sisters - Flo, Faye, and Franny - escape the clutches of their evil Uncle Freidrich (who believes the girls should NEVER pilot aeroplanes) and join a flying circus. They soon become a smashing sensation, performing aerial acrobatics, wing walking and other death-defying feats in a dazzling biplane outfitted with three cockpits.
But when the girls discover a mysterious map - which may lead them to the long-lost family fortune - their dastardly uncle follows them on a thrilling chase in the skies. The Flying Flamingo Sisters must use wits, courage and derring-do to solve secret codes, trek through spooky jungles and save their parents. Not to mention themselves!

The Flying Flamingo Sisters by Carrie Seim, narrated very nicely, within intonations and moods by the cast of readers. Adventure, danger, and a great time. It is an excellent listening on Audible, great for children. I have listened to this audiobook with my eight-year-old son on repeat already several times. This one is his favourite. The book shows a kid's story very suitable for pre-teenagers as it speaks about feelings, kindness and respect. Also, it helps understand other people's emotions.

Good Time Cartoony FunReview of the Audible Original audiobook edition (Dec. 12, 2019This reminded me a lot of the old time cartoons Rocky & Bullwinkle and Dudley Do-Right. That was primarily because the menacing Uncle Friedrich character was reminiscent of the Snidely Whiplash villain in the Dudley Do-Right cartoons. The whole narration with footnote interjections was also a regular feature in those cartoons. Anyway, it brought back fond memories. Younger listeners may find it similar to A Series of Unfortunate Events. I'd say this would be very entertaining for both younger children and adults.
The narration performances by author Carrie Seim and several others in the extended cast were all excellent.
The Flying Flamingo Sisters was originally released December 12, 2019. It was a free Audible Original for members in the month of May 2020. It is available to everyone for a standard price.

This was a cute story of 3 sisters with different talents who are determined to find their parents and outrun their evil uncle. The multiple narrators helped me keep who was who and brought the story to life like a cartoon movie. The radio announcer popping in and out defining aviation terms and updates on the story as it changed chapters. He was kind of distracting but was necessary as not everyone will know these terms. Elsie de la Rue was a cool side character too. I can see how it would be a great listen on road trips with kids. It has action, fun characters, and an intriguing synopsis that makes people want to give this audible freebie a chance.
Honestly, this feels like it might have served better as a movie instead of an audiobook as the voices were all exaggerated. Some readers don’t jive with certain stories and I think this was just the case with me. The ending felt incomplete to me but Audible probably wants to leave it that way for a sequel. It just bothers me that the whole point was for them to stay together and they kind of separate again. With that being said, I’m glad that I gave this freebie a chance as it was nice to listen to while I cleaned my house. I’m not the target audience for this book so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

This audio book is all about the acting and sound design. The story is simple and charming, the characters colorful and silly, but it all comes alive with the full cast recording. My son is a fan, as am I. This lovely little audio drama is worth a few hours listen.

Enjoyed the narration and appreciated the cast.. done in a sitting!

Joyfully over the top audio performance of a middle grade story about a family of aviators „in the time of the Great Depression“. I loved how the sound and the music helped setting the scene.

Definitely reminded me of A Series of Unfortunate Events.
The Flying Flamingo Sisters was a pretty cute and short audiobook. In it, you will meet Frannie, Flo and Faye Flamingo. Long story short, their parents and their lovable dog have disappeared. So they have jetted off to go find them. Along the way, they run out of fuel and start their own little adventure.
Once they entered the flying circus to make some money, I was hooked. I mean the whole evil uncle gunning for them and some mysterious map was entertaining as well. The sisters were just adorable and they seemed somewhat realistic. It was an entertaining read that unexpectedly ended on a cliffhanger. Not sure if there's going to be another little novella after this but I wouldn't be mad about it either.

Fans of Lemony Snicket will appreciate this book. But it is better in that it isn't quite as dark. The story moves at a good pace. I love the Flamingo Sisters who are attempting to find their missing parents while avoiding their dastardly uncle. Yes, there is an evil uncle and he doesn't approve of girls being pilots. Worse he is after the legendary family treasure that must be found within the next few days (weeks time isn't fully explained here) or it will be lost forever.
The narration is good with a cast to portray the different characters. This is perfect for family listening and is just a few hours long. I will say that how it ends, one can only hope that there will be a sequel furthering the flying adventures of the Flamingo sisters.

This book is really fun! Both the acting and writing are very entertaining and very good. It has some of the snarky humor of A Series of Unfortunate Events while still being light-hearted. It's a classic adventure story both kids and adults will enjoy. I would love sequels.

Cute. Kind of along the lines of A Series of Unfortunate Events, but not as well developed.

The Flying Flamingo Sisters
by Carrie Seim and narrated by a variety of actors
This was quite a strange little story that young girls would probably like a lot more than I did. Three young girls to middle grade (?) are part of a family of pilots during a time of the depression. The parents are off on a flight when they go missing. Their sly and greedy Uncle that their parents don't even like shows up and wants all the girls stuff and a treasure map. The girls take off to find their parents and this book is their story. Ends in a cliffhanger.
The story is definitely made for younger listeners. The multiple performers were very good for a kids book.

Delightful little romp. I wasn’t expecting a lot, but it made me laugh and kept me engaged. It’s a fun family story told I’m 1930’s campy radio show style. A lot of the humor was clearly geared towards keeping parents engaged.

This is a super cute read.
I had a good time reading this, the sisters are smart and capable and the story was fast paced. There are a lot of puns and word play which made me chuckle and the full cast audio brought the story to life. The plot was fun and interesting and I would definitely listen to another chapter of this.

I wouldn't normally review something like this but this story was just too fun and cute to ignore. I listened to this with my 7yr old goddaughter while we drove her mother about for Christmas shopping. The story is read (performed) like an old time radio show which kept it quick and exciting. Flo, Faye, and Franny are 3 very brave and quick thinking sisters who are searching for their parents (and don't forget fritz the dog) all while running from their treasure hungry Uncle Freidrich... I think everyone can enjoy this gem!
