This book being my favorite in the series so far, a coincidence or written in the stars?

Zodiac Academy: The Reckoning is actually the first book this year that I'm giving 5 stars. I was thinking about rounding down to 4 stars, because this book is far from perfect, but Darcy + Orion have me in a chokehold and I love them so much. All the stars for them and only them. 💫

Warning: I don't think I mentioned any big spoilers in this reviews that would affect your reading experience too much, but then I'm pretty bad at writing spoiler free reviews so here the spoiler warning.

After the events at the end of ZA: Ruthless Fae , everyone is still in shocked, but as a Fae you have to move on. One week until The Reckoning, also known at Zodiac Academy as Hell's week. The seniors are making the lives for the Juniors even harder, because they need to prepare them for the Reckoning.

Tory, Darcy and their friends are trying to survive Hell's week and going through the trials for each of their elements.

This book included the heirs + Orions POVs again, as well as Tory and Darcy's POV.

↠ TORY & DARCY VEGA. We finally find out in this book what their Order is and I'm so happy about it!! Lemme just say that their Order ist fucking BADASS. The twins are already pretty badass, cause they hold all four elements, but I love love love their Order so much. From all mythicial creatures that one is by far my favorite.

I'm still liking both Tory and Darcy. Tory has more individual badass moments, but Darcy has the better romance imo lol.

When we were together, we were safe. Tory had been my only constant in life and no matter where we were or whatever happened to us, I knew I always had her.

↠ PROFESSOR LANCE ORION. This guy is so fucking dramatic and I love every second of it. Watch me open my own fanclub for him. I would be the Geraldine and bringing him food & drinks. It would be an honor to be his blood bag. Everything for you sir.
How he keeps being the biggest asshole to everyone (Tory included), his pep talk in his class–legendary stuff–but he is soft, jealous and possessive when it comes to Darcy. We love that. 💅

Okay ngl Orion had one jealous "WTF" moment in this book, when I was screaming at my screen what the hell he was thinking about??? But seriously I love this guy so much and sometime he is just such an asshole and dumbass that I'm looking the other way. Orion could go and kill every single character and I'd be like "my husband has a very valid reason for all the slaughtering".

"Mr Indus has something to say," Orion announced. Elijah cleared his throat. The class waited attentively and some people sniggered. "I'm pathethic."
"And?" Orion prompted.
"And a coward."
Orion cocked his head, still waiting. Elijah sighed. "And I'd like to apologise to you all for being an embarassement to the school. And to Solaria. And to the entire race of Fae."
"If you wak out again you're done." Orion snarled and I sensed he really meant that.

"Hungover, Miss Vega?" he growled and she sighed, realising her mistake.
"Yes, sir. If you fancy sending any of your healing magic this way, that would be swell."
Orion gave her one of his darkest smiles that said he definitely wasn't her friend right then. "Oh I won't be doing that. If you turn up to my class hungover you can deal with the consequences." He shot to her side at a fierce speed and bellowed, "CAN'T YOU?!" in her ear. It even made me flinch, but Tory winced with pure pain.

Pleasesseeeee DKFKSLFJFLDSFLS, can he get even more annoying? 😭🤚

↠ DARCY & ORION. My ride or die. These two are my favorite couple of this series no competition. A lot of people prefer Darius, because he has this intense bad boy aura, but it's always going to be Orion and Darcy for me. He cares so much for her and this book was peak Orion and Darcy moments. Every single scene was gold. Orion and Darcy the reason why I'm lowkey obsessed with this series. They are relationship goals and you can't change my mind. 😌

Lance:
I guess you're about to go radio silence so for what it's worth...
In Solario blue means royal. And to me, blue means you.

The reason behind Darcy's blue hair and every time Orion calls her 'Blue' it's hitting me right in the feels and then he goes and says this. 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

Lance:
Seeing another guy's hands on you makes me want to rip out their eyes so they never get to look at you again.

I have so many highlights of them and it's so hard to chose quotes so I'm always inserting random ones.

"Hm... you're missing something though."
"What?" I frowned.
He reached behind his seat and produced the crown he'd won at the fair, placing it on my head. I smiled so wide my cheeks hurt.
"Better," he said, his eyes becoming hooded as he rested his hands on my thights and drew me closer.
"If you go around placing crowns on my head, you're going to be in trouble," I teased and his mouth skewed.
"Well let's not tell anyone then," he said, leaning in to kiss my neck.

That whole car sex scene is hot. 🥵

And one last text message between them, bc they are so cute. 😭

Lance:
I'll make it worth your while if you pass the Reckoning today. #motivation #seemeafterclass

Darcy:
I can't believe you just hashtagged me!

Lance:
I can't believe you're not in my bed right now. #missyourpeach

I want what they have! Orion and Darcy call me single on every level possible and I don't know if I should be sad or happy about that. 😭

↠ TORY & DARIUS. I thought I have read slowburn before, but Tory and Darius give slowburn another meaning, cause we are already 3 books in a.k.a. almost 1700 pages into the series and these two haven't even had their first kiss yet. I'm starting to get annoyed at all the Tory & Caleb sex scenes, cause I really don't see a point in them. They are fuck 'buddies' (and I use that term losely, cause they are not really buddies) and everything is clearly hinting at Tory and Darius being endgame and I want to see more scenes of Tory & Darius together instead we get tons of Tory and Caleb having sex all over the academy. But at least the few scenes between Tory and Darius were good. I really love the scenes where she was going home with Darius and was bonding with his brother Xavier and then when they were racing with their motorbikes or when Darius took care of Tory when she was drunk and her magic was out of controll. Reading those scenes I'm always like "omg look how good you two could have been if you should only get your shit together" The motorbike racing scene was the first scene where I started to truly like them, cause they have the chemistry, but the push and pull is ehhh not my jam. Darius and Tory's whole dynamic is making one step forward and then 10 steps back.

She wasn't just a girl though. Not to me. She was the one girl I shouldn't want, the one I couldn't have, the one I didn't need. And yet I did. And everything in my life could be damaged so badly by that need that I#d fought it tooth and claw up until this point.

↠ THE HEIRS. I hate myself a little, because I want to hold a grudge against them, after everything they pulled against the twins, but I'm actually starting to like them. 😩 I don't really care about Caleb and Max as much as indiviudal, because Caleb is in the way of Tory and Darius and Max is not in the story enough. But I actually like Seth. He is so clingy with his friends and needs so much affection and I feel so bad for him when no one wants to give him a hug. And Darius he is a FREAKING DRAGON and bc I love his relationship with his brother. But I also like their group dynamic (when they're not trying bully the twins)

Seth bounded out of the chair and leapt on Darius like he'd just declared his undying love for him instead of offering a consolation hug. He jumped into Darius' arms and knocked him back onto the bed where they fell on top of Cal who got dragged into the hug too. I laughed as the mood in the room switched dramatically and amusement, happiness and friendship filled the air. I got up and dove on top of them as well, earning myself more licks from Seth as he alternated between all of us.
"Come on, Orion," Seth called excitedly. "You can join my honoary pack for the night."
"Not a fucking chance," Orion replied, folding his arms as he stayed well away from us where we were all tangled on the bed.

↠ Orion & Darius. I love the bromance between Orion and Darius so much. They are bonded together, it's part why they are so affectionate with e/a, but it's cute & hilarious as hell. The way Max described that Darius would drop the Heirs like a sack of shit once Orion was around.... I mean why hang out with any of them, when he can hang out with THE Orion. I would do the same.

I turned away from Darius and he jumped onto my back, locking his legs around my waist. "Giddy up pony."

↠ SIDE-CHARACTERS. In this book Xavier has to be my favorite side characters. I love Darius' little brother so much and someone get him out of that abusive home asap!!!! I want to kill Xavier & Darius' father for a lot of things, but right now it's for the way he treats Xavier. My baby. 😭😭😭

This series is so addictive!! It's really long, but the writing is good and I just fly though it without it getting boring, even though the plot is a bit slow.

This was the best one in the series yet!!

✅ THE MAGICAL ACADEMY VIBES in this were seriously top-notch. I seriously love this academy so much! The survival of the fittest mentality, the freshman hazing, the elemental trials they had to go through... it was like if you combined Mean Girls with Avatar: The Last Airbender with Harry Potter and put them all on steroids 😅

✅ WE GOT THE MOTORCYCLE RACE and it was amazinggggg 😍 It didn't end in any sexy times between Tory and Darius, which I was pretty disappointed in, but I still loved getting to see this little competition between them

🆗 SPEAKING OF TORY AND DARIUS... can these two please at least kiss already or else I'm going to self-combust from all the damn sexual tension between them.



That scene on the beach between them was so beautiful without them even kissing AND THEN THAT SHITSTORM HAD TO HAPPEN AND RUIN IT ALL %#&!@ I AM SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW

✅ DARCY AND ORIEN ARE life goals and I dare anyone to say differently. Literally, they are perfect right now 🥰🥰 Never knew I would be this into a student/teacher relationship but their brand of dirty talk and roleplaying is just so naughty and I love it lol

✅ WE NEED MORE NEW ADULT ROMANTASY like this. Seriously. I love how these characters freely cuss and are lewd and hilarious. And the romance is definitely quite steamy as well 😏

Even though I'm pretty frustrated with the ending of this book it was still soooo good! Can't wait to keep reading.

It’s *finally* getting spicy and I’m HERE FOR IT. I honestly don’t even have a favorite ship- I’m just trash for all of them. And seeing some of my theories come to light is everything to meeee. The girls are becoming more badass and the guys are getting more whipped and the magic is getting more intense, what more can a fantasy/smut loving girlie ask for? Now again, I’ll reiterate that this isn’t the most fabulously written or well thought out fantasy- but that’s not going to keep me from loving these and diving straight into the next book. So you’re barking up the wrong tree if you want to complain to me about those things cause I couldn’t care less

♎ Why did Tory take that deal with Max?? She had such huge leverage on him but she blew it all away for a shitty lesson that could've been taught BY ANYONE else🤧 I'm pretty sure she could've even learned how to create air bubbles from a book somewhere. Give me strengths.

♎ These trials were sooo......unoriginal? I expected more from the reckoning too, it was all so easy.

♎ It would've been rounded up to 4 stars if my theory had come true BUT IT DIDN'T.

My theory (contains spoilers):

Because Phoenixes are sort of famous for rebirth and "rising from the ashes" I thought it would be AMAZING if the twins died, probably by the hands of Lionel, making the boys worry in the process of course😏, and then RISE AS PHOENIXES.

God that would've been so badass. They didn't die, but they did emerge at the end of this book. It was still exciting don't get me wrong....BUT MY VERSION WAS BETTER SORRY. (hide spoiler)]

PS: Now I can't stop listening to backstreet boys. Fuck this book.

I can’t believe the things that happened in this book. I swear it was jam-packed with shit that happened. And it took so many words in 𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙎 𝘽𝙀𝘼𝙎𝙏 𝙊𝙁 𝘼 𝘽𝙊𝙊𝙆 to relay everything. And by everything, I mean every single fucking detail.

That’s the only true flaw I found in this book. But am I upset about it? No fucking way. I had a blast reading every word. Honestly it had me hooked at every turn. The back and forth, the dance with danger and just everything. Every pov had a purpose and I ate it tf up.

𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱. This book really tested my relationship with him for sure. I got so pissed at him and Darius so bad it came to a point where I *𝙜𝙖𝙨𝙥* rescinded my marriage proposal. But don’t worry, all is right with the world and he’s back in my good graces… 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘸.

He can be 𝐒𝐔𝐂𝐇 a romantic and honestly so fucking adorable at times, it stamps a grin on my face forevermore.

The ending 🤌🤌🤌 Their Orders🤌🤌🤌 Just damn perfect.

I did feel this book was slightly slower than the last one, hence the four stars. But so much happened I can't begin to sum it up. The plot thickens and am all for it. With the twins' Orders emergence I can't wait to see their powers at full capacity.

The romantic drama is at peak. But I guess it's just going to get complex with Tory stuck in between Darius and Caleb; both are good competitors 😂 I think Darcy and Orion are most definitely Mates👀 (Which I will absolutely ship); wonder how Seth will take it. Don't suppose he'll be happy but let's see. Is it weird I want Darcy to be part of the pack despite all the complicated relationships?😂
Also, the jealousy trope in this one🥵🥵

Overall, so damn interesting. It's close to perfection.

This series is killing me. I've read this book in ONE DAMNED DAY, and I swear it's eating me alive. From all that romance, plots, mystery and teasing, to the POV's that again were shared between Tory, Darcy, the Heirs and Orion to that heart stopping ending... it will murder me, it simply will.

After the attack against Zodiac Academy, Fae must do what Fae do best: move on and show no weakness. Which means that, with the upcoming Reckoning, the Hell Week is about to start for all freshmen. Each one of them has to go through trials for each of the elements they possess before taking the final test, while also going through the week where all older students are allowed and encouraged to rain down hell over their heads.

“Caleb’s just trying to get into my pants again.”
“How hard are you going to make him work for it?”
“He took part in the whole throwing us in a pit business. So I’m thinking I’m done with him,” I said dismissively.
“Yeah, you totally should be,” she agreed. “But that look in your eye says you’re not.”
“That’s just the part of my brain which is blinded by his hotness. I refuse to listen to her because she’s a slut. The sensible part of my brain says hell no and I’ll be keeping company with her and her chastity belt from now on.”

DAMN. I LOVE THEM TO THE MOON AND BACK. Especially since the Moon gave us such entertaining scenes here. But anyway, the relationships in this book? AMAZING.

✅ the Heirs

"Seth bounded out of the chair and leapt on Darius like he’d just declared his undying love for him instead of offering a consolation hug. He jumped into Darius’s arms and knocked him back onto the bed where they fell on top of Cal who got dragged into the hug too."

I want to hate them, I do, but I just can't. I love Darius and Caleb without question,  Max hasn't really appeared enough to make him the cherry of my pie but I adore him and Seth was so cuddly and simply cute that my poor heart just keeps forgetting what an ass he can be.

✅ Darcy and Orion

“That almost sounds like fun,” I teased.
“Yes, well I can be fun sometimes. Especially when I'm not wearing this suit.”
I stared at him and his eyes widened as he realised what he'd said.
“I meant when I'm not working,” he said quickly.

They are without any doubt my favorite couple. All hail the new king and queen of my heart, because sweet biting vampires, there's not a single part of their relationship that didn’t make me fangirl dangerously loud.

I loved them a lot, I love their relationship with all the ups and downs, I absolutely fangirled at every scene, from Darcy showing up unexpectedly, to that car scene and to their entire interaction.

✅ Tory and Caleb

“I have a bit of a weakness for assholes,” I admitted slowly. “But I’m used to them lying about what they are. At least you own it.”
“I do,” Caleb said with a smirk, his hand travelling up my neck ever so slowly. “I’m an honest to god asshole. Do you want to keep playing with me, Tory?”
“Maybe,” I breathed because in that moment I didn’t even know anymore.

I love Caleb. I've said this before and I'll say this again. And I do enjoy their scenes but again, I know Tory and Darius are endgame. It can't be any other way and I just want it to happen because their slow burn romance makes me go crazy. The thing is, I think Caleb might have actual feelings for that badass Vega and I just don't want my golden-bad-boy-turned-sweet-for-her to be heart broken.

"He was the perfect escape from the mayhem of everything else that was going on in my life. And I was more than happy to lose myself with him for a little while."

I mean, they certainly have a lot of chemistry and I did enjoy their scenes, which were teasing and hot at times, but sometimes actually cute. And again, I love them separately a lot and I just want for them to end up on good terms and not have this entire thing go up in flames.

"Darius caught my hand and pulled me upright, before throwing his arm around my shoulders as he held his Atlas in front of us and took a picture while pressing a kiss to the top of my head. I couldn’t help but laugh as he took the picture which he instantly sent on to Caleb."

But you know what I love? This competition and banter between Caleb and Darius over Tory.

✅ Tory and Darius

“There are countless people who would say I’m not allowed to want you,” Darius breathed. “But you make me want to burn the whole world down so that I can claim you for my own.”
“Then we should burn it down,” I agreed.

They will kill me. I've never read such a slow burn romance in my entire life. By the time these two will finally kiss, Darcy and Orion will have grandchildren.

“I should go,” I breathed.
“Stay,” he replied instantly.
“I have my Air Trial tomorrow,” I said. “I really need to get some sleep and-”
“So sleep here. Like last night. We don’t have to do anything else.”
“I have a perfectly good bed downstairs. Why would you want me to stay?”
“Because it feels right,” he breathed.

The scene where he took her to her room to take care of her after she got drunk? The motorcycle race? Priceless. Amazing. I'm rooting for these two sooooo hard, my heart will explode.

“I’ve been watching you,” he said slowly.
“Why?” I asked slowly, needing his answer like I needed to draw breath.
“Because that’s what I do,” he said slowly. “I watch you and hunger for you and ache for you. It torments me like I torment you.”

You know who else was tormented here? ME. The tension and the undeniable connection is murdering me slowly.

✅ Darius and Orion

“You took Tory Vega home?” I questioned, putting my Atlas down and doing up my shirt. “Are you screwing her?” Please say yes so I can tell you about Darcy.

The best bromance ever. There's not even a competition here.

》》Conclusion《《

I'm still so overwhelmed by this book that I don't know what more to say: How exciting it is to finally have the Orders of the twins? How much I love Geraldine and Xavier as side characters? How happy I am for Sophia's relationship and the way she seems to turn a little badass too? How annoying Hat Boy Diego is becoming? How much I hate Lionel? How frustrating that ending was, leaving me craving for more?

I simply have no words. It's a masterpiece that breakes and mends my heart with every new chapter.

"Caleb stepped up beside him and they both started smiling. Like actually smiling.
Before I answered, Seth broke into song, cracking out the Backstreet Boys classic, I Want It That Way.
Caleb picked up the next line on cue and Seth started clicking his fingers to the beat.
They both started dancing, sashaying their way toward us and I stared on in surprise. Seth looked to Caleb and they both belted out the last line of the chorus together with their hands on their hearts. "

Also this scene?!?! I guess you never really know what to expect...

Hello. Lance Orion here. How about that book huh? It was pretty good right? Darcy is my favorite character for obvious reasons. Once you go blue you don’t go back ;) You might not have liked everything I did in this book but you can’t be a bad boy without doing some bad things. Would you rather I sing love songs like that flea ridden Seth or that pegafucker Caleb? I don’t think so. What did you think of those sex scenes? They were hot right? *sips bourbon* Stay tuned. I’m sure there will be more to come ;)

This is officially a Tory and Darius fan page and because of that this review will probably be somewhat chaotic. I apologize in advance 😭

So I still haven’t reviewed the second book but anyways I need to review this before I start Shadow Princess so I don’t mix up how I felt about the characters when.

Darcy was kind of boring? I mean I still love her and she’s great (she’s so kind and I adore her sassy side) but I just felt like she was doing way less in this book, which is true. That being said I still really like her even if a bit less in this book.

TORY VEGA MY FAVOURITE GIRL she’s so insanely badass and snarky and !!!! She shone in this book. She was smart with her mouth (I love her fiery side) and she was just perfect. She didn’t do a single annoying thing (in my mind) and she’s one of my favourite characters in recent memory I swear. She’s so insanely cool and I adore her! The character development was amazing, you can tell she’s grown, and her vulnerable moments were *chef’s kiss*.

Now! Before I get to the Heirs who I am ~conflicted~ about, the plot was perfect. It takes place over about a week, and I loved it. The plot was fast paced and I enjoyed seeing what they did each day as every day was jam packed with things they did and learnt. I loved how the world is slowly expanding, I loved seeing more dark magic being used, and I can’t stress enough how good the romantic scenes were. So so so well used 😭 I am so excited to see where everything goes

DARIUS ACRUX MY LOVE . GUYS HIM HIM HIM. I honestly did NOT expect to love him so so much!! I was definitely warming up to him at the end of book 2, and his POV settled it. I love him. His POV is amazing, I love his personality, yes he is an asshole half the time but !! He’s amazing!! The depth of his character I think is the most developed with all of the Heirs and that depth makes him much more intriguing. Plus seeing his literal 24/7 angst over Tory !!!!!!!!!!! NDORJTOEKS

Caleb Altair <3 . Although he’s no longer my favourite heir he’s still in second place. I honestly loved seeing his sweet side and ahhhhh him and Tory ☹️☹️ I’m so sad he’ll get heartbroken by the end because I really do love him 😭 I think he has great depth we haven’t yet seen and I know his character has so much room to grow and I am excited !

Max was once again useless . I love his relationship with his Dad because it’s so wholesome but as a character he’s really not that great. He doesn’t do all that much.

Seth . Hmmm. I have no clue really. I don’t like him that much but I can sympathize with him at times but there’s something about him that’s telling me he promise will be a major ass in the later books so I’m holding off from liking him.

Orion is the most likeable when in his POV. Outside of that I don’t really care much for him (unpopular opinion!) . I just don’t get it?? The hype?? But his friendship with Darius is so sweet

The romance. Okay so first Orion and Darcy I definitely am warming up to but I just don’t see any real chemistry yet. I loved the texting scenes and I loved the subtle things but I didn’t enjoy their full blown romantic scenes? I don’t know I just am not invested in it.

Now. TORY AND DARIUS GUYS . They are the best ship. Slowburn enemies to lovers?? I am here. 3 books on and no kiss yet? I am suffering but here for it. They are *perfect* 🥰 I swear the angst between them is simply perfect and I adore the emotions of pure hatred they have for each other but they also can’t deny they care for each other in an unexplainable way. THE DRUNK SCENE OMG OMG GUYS. I was smiling so hard and I was getting literally butterflies over it ?????? The way Darius took care of her ???? And it was his POV??? Then hers the morning after the cuddled each other in his room??????? And she feels safe with him before she realizes who it is????? And they have a conversation because they don’t want to leave and the angst 😭 Then the scene where Tory is bleeding out and Darius is trying to wake her up and says how he wouldn’t be able to live with himself if she died and how he’d go into hell to get her back?????!? I AM DYING OVER THEM. The way he tries to be mean to her and then in his POV he’s literally pushing her down and then is struggling to not dive down after her because he’s torturing himself by hurting her???? The scene where he is thinking to himself how when he makes her hate him it feels as if he’s stabbing himself in the heart???? CRYING SOBBING BREAKING DOWN 😭😭 And how he was waiting for her to leave Caleb’s room the entire night and he wanted to scream at her to leave but he also couldn’t??? And Tory’s POV for the bike race????????? The entire scene at his house????? How she saved both their lives?????

I have been warned that they will put me through even more pain but their relationship is so well written and I’m sobbing over them and anyways I’m going to go read Shadow Princess right now

i have mixed feelings on this one butttttt all my stars go to darcy and orion ❤️

they are just so goddamn precious and need to be protected at all costs. they give me rose and dimitri vibes from Vampire Academy, who are thEE OG student x teacher trope ship.

tori on the other hand sis... she was really annoying in this, we get you're a bad bitch but tori sweetie you hate darius for all the shit he did to you (knowing his asshole father is the one pulling all his strings), yet you allow his friend caleb into your pants even tho he did the exact same things as darius??? the hypocrisy jumped out! i'm very much bored by caleb and tori all they do is chase each other around the woods and hook up.

now darius on the other hand? my boy is COMPLEX. a kind hearted soul who cares for his brothers but has been brought up by the biggest and most evilest asshole in all of solaria. i hope he destroys daddy acrux soon and tori stops playing with my boys damn emotions.

this series is like if harry potter, twilight, vampire academy, divergent, and fallen were mashed together and published on wattpad lmao. this series is like crack tho I'm about to inhale book no 4 and forget all about my responsibilities!!!

also- I KNEW WHAT ORDER THE TWINS WOULD BE AS SOON AS ORION GAVE THE LESSON ON RARE ORDERS!!!!! kinda cheesy but makes sense.

This keeps getting crazier and more addictive. I don't think there's much I can say without spoiling books 1 and 2, so in short, if you haven't read this series and you like dark/urban fantasy, I definitely suggest you give it a try. It's funny and sexy but also heartwrenching and clever. Just read it.

*From this point forward there might be spoilers for books 1 and 2*

Random thoughts that I could or could not turn into a coherent review in the future:

- Caleb is a mix between a sweet little puppy and a sociopathic ax murderer.
- I don't trust Diego AT ALL. Never have, never will.
- Tory and Darcy are the definition of sister goals.
- Max is still pretty absent from the story, I wonder if that will ever change.
- Maybe Darius was a bit less of a dick, though I still don't love him. It bothers me how crazy he gets when he loses his temper.
- Darius and Orion are the cutest, I kinda ship them.

*SPOILERS FOR THIS BOOK AHEAD* (And some predictions)

- I think Tory and Darius will be endgame, even though I kinda liked Tory and her simple relationship with Caleb. I think Caleb and Seth will be a thing and obviously Darcy and Orion (unless new characters are presented to us that come and scramble everything up?)
- The Heirs no longer scare me. All they do is petty humiliations and by now I'm sure they aren't really going to hurt the twins so something else needs to happen in book 4, a different plot point or more tension because if there is more teenage humiliation between the groups it will still be fun, it just won't scare anybody.
- I WAS SURE their Order was Phoenix, absolutely certain. I'm curious as to how the story will develop now that the twins have their Order.
- Am I scared of Lionel? Meh, not really. He just feels like a big bully for now. The shadows are more problematic I think.

Okay, I know this is all over the place but I've been reading for hours straight and I need to let it rest before I can form a reasonable review.
