THE VEGAS. Darcy and Tory's sister bond is one of the most beautiful relationship in this series. I love how they keep standing up for e/o in all kind of situations, but they are not afraid to tell the other when they fucked up. *cough* Tory get ur head out of ur ass *cough*
She was the light to my dark, the joy to my pain. I loved her more than life itself and there was no life to be had at all if I didn't have her by my side.
Can I just say sibling goals? 🥺 When I read about Tory and Darcy, I sometimes wish I had a twin, but then one me is already annoying enough, two would be too much for this world to handle. 🥴
Darcy pulled me into the bed with her and we curled up beneath the covers together like we used to when we were little kids. She didn't ask me anything else about it because there wasn't anything more that I could say. And I just tried to take that comfort I could from the only love I'd ever know.

[someone send a tape of Orion and Darcy having sex to the FIB and Orion went to prison to protect Darcy. There were so many hints throughout the series that Orion could be power-shamed and going to prison, if their forbidden love story was discovered, so it wasn't exactly surprising.
As heroic as it is that Orion took the full fall and said that he Dark Coerced Darcy into wanting him to gain power, it broke my and Darcy's heart wtf. 😭 I hated how everyone thought he was some pervert preying on a Vega Princess, because he's power hungry. His chapter in prison made me cry. Orion loves Darcy so much and my heart ached to read how he longed for her. 😭
A broken heart was the most painful thing I'd ever endured. But I'd never deserved to own the heart of Darcy Vega. And I'd had to give it back in the most brutal way possible. It was the only way I could save her. And it would be worth it when she rose to power and led to the life she was meant to lead. If my own life had to be a casualty for that to happen, I was more than willing to sacrifice it. Even if I was going to pine for her for the rest of my days. Miss her with the very essence of my soul and ache for her until the world stopped spinning. I would stay here and I would suffer willingly to do what was best for her. And someday she'd understand why.

TORY & DARIUS. I feel heartbroken for Darius, after Tory's decision of rejecting the bond and making them star-crossed lovers in the process. Both of them had to face the consequences of all their actions leading to that and they are both responsible. I was impressed with how Tory dealt with all the stares, whispers & shit talk with her head held high. Tory was always someone who didn't care about the opinions of others, but it must still be hard to know that everyone who looks at her will know that she a chance at a forever love, but choose differently.

YES, finally Darius stands up and defends Tory. Darius is really doing the bare minimum now that the stars have fucked him over, but I take every win I can get. No but for real he's finally doing something for Tory, instead of just lusting over her while resenting her for her birthright.

[When the threesome between Tory, Darius and Caleb happened, I wa fine w it. Usually, I HATE SHARING SCENES IN MY BOOKS, but 1. the WHY the threesome scene happened was kinda smart, because Caleb was trying to trick the stars, otherwise it would be impossible for Darius and Tory to be together. Every time they get to close, the world is starting to fall apart. and 2. Tory/Darius was never my ship and i'm not that invested in them. So they can do whatever and whoever they want. Still glad that there was not a penetration scene between Caleb & Tory and he 'only' fingered her. I don't think another threesome is going to happen, since the stars already figured out that they were tricked and Darius is not very keen on sharing Tory. 🤷🏽♀️ (hide spoiler)]↠
THE HEIRS. I'm really having whiplash with this series, cause I'm changing my opinion of the characters all the time. After Cursed Fates I'm back loving all the heirs. What a clownery. 💀
I have such a soft spot for Seth and feel that Darcy and him have a special bond. His apology for all the harm he has caused her. It's better than most apologies Heroes in romance novel give when they fucked up.. uff I really want them to become besties!
I love the meddling of the heirs and how they all came up with **Mission: Defy the stars** to bring Tory and Darius back together. All the guys are like brothers and I'm actually glad that Darius and Caleb didn't had a blowup fight over Tory. When Caleb found out about the rejected mate bond, he backed away and even tried everything to get Darius and Tory closer. My respect for Caleb after this book went up by a thousand points.

ORION & DARIUS. My cuddling bros. They've been through so much together, through the lowest of low and highest of high and I'm just praying that once everything is over that Orion and Darius are still going to be best friends.
He clutched onto me and the knot in my chest eased as the bond between us deepened, thrumming in my ears and making me want to get nearer and nearer to him.
"Let's just run off together into the sunset," Darius joked. "We can forget all about the Vegas and buy a house in Starshine Bay."
"We can have two kids. Boys obviously. Girls are trouble," I played along and he released a chuckle as we stepped apart.

TORY & ORION. they have come so far omg! 😭 Tory and Orion is one of the most underrated friendships in the Solaria world. Both of them are snarky af and love Darcy more than the world, but I can't help but feel like they just get each other.
Magic spilled from my fingertips where I still held his arm and Orion looked at me in confusion as I conjured tiny brown vines into existence, plaiting and braiding them together until they formed a ring around his wrist.
"What's this?" he asked, rasing his hand to inspect it and I had to say I'd done a damn good job too.
"I promised you a friendship bracelet," I teased. "We can get together for a slumber party another time though."
He snorted a laugh at me as he backed up. "I'll treasure it always. Goodnight, Tory."
"Goodnight."
He shot away from me and I was left alone, but somehow that didn't seem so lonely anymore.

I loved the first 80% of this book so much, but then after X, each chapter was just so depressing for me to read and now I just remember all the bad things that happened in this book and feel extremely conflicted even tho I know overall this book was pretty good. The next book better give me some hope, because right now I'm just devastated for every character.

So damn painful yet so good.
If I had to describe this book in two words, it'll be- Heartbreakingly Beautiful😭💔
There were multiple times I cried while reading this, it's just so beautifully written. The pain of the lovers has been described so passionately, it's hard not to feel a thing for them. It's so well written, you actually immerse yourself in it and just feel the emotions. A lot of it was heavy stuff as far as drama goes and I'm for once glad it's just fiction lol and I commend the authors for their work.
The characters outdid themselves and their development was done brilliantly. The majority of the book revolved around Darcy, Orion, Tory and Darius and their romance and I loved it! As brutal it was I enjoyed the concept of Star Crossed lovers.
Darcy's has grown so much over the books. She is more confident in this one and her powers are totally badass. I loved that she started trusting her capabilities more and the bond that she's formed with the Heirs is damn awesome, especially with Darius and Seth. I can't wait to see more of the five together 😩
Orion is such an amazing guy and my favourite character in the series. I really want him to have a smooth ride but that's just wishful thinking lol. He really messed up with his stupid decision and I just hope him and Blue emerge out of this stronger.
Tory.. crap, I was too harsh on her in the last book. She went through so much in this one and came out as the more selfless one. I hate what she's done but am sure my girl is going to have the biggest comeback. I loved how we get to see her manage her struggles was just brutal.
Darius is AMAZING. The best one out of the Heirs. Getting to see his softer side and his raw emotions was so sweet. He's a total marshmallow 🥺
I would like to also apologize for hating on Seth so much😂Seth, Max and Caleb made such a powerful trio at the end, though I was getting anxiety reading the last few changes lol. Gabriel and Xavier are a great additions to the storyline and both hold so much potential, would definitely like to see more of them.
The Shadow Bitch and her 'Daddy' can rot. So gross, I don't even have words to say about them🤢 But yes I will say they're good villian to an amazing plot. Diego... Meh, I couldn't connect with him. So not much opinion. Plus the impact of his contribution was overshadowed by the whole tragic romance of the book.
Also, regarding the threesome.. look it was hot but it wasn't special. I would've preferred if that moment was only between the Star Crossed lovers but Caleb's presence kind of ruined the whole moment. Instead of it being something truly special it just came off as devoid of emotion, which was so contradictory to the characters' feelings (excluding Caleb).
I started this book in hopes that this would be less painful than Shadow Princess...boy, how wrong was I😂 It's definitely worth reading, and I couldn't keep this book down. The writing is mesmerizing. In short, I enjoyed it and can't wait to start with Fated Throne.

FINALLY I'm done with this beast.
It took me fucking centuries, but I managed to crawl through it.
It wasn't about the page count. With the previous ones, I felt glad to have pages upon pages of character banter and funny scenes. This one had a lot of filler, and I don’t think it needed to be this long. The previous ones got me addicted, I read them all in a week. I didn’t reach out to pick this one up for months. I read a couple of scenes, then put it down and saw it judging me as I read other books. I practically forced myself to pick it up this week because I was growing tired of the dirty looks it sent me as it sat in my “currently reading” pile. Having said that, it did get interesting at some points and I want to continue with the series. It wasn’t as addictive as the other ones is all I’m trying to say.

They had some cute scenes and I did feel giddy at times (I'm not COMPLETELY devoid of feeling,) but mostly they just bore me to desperation. I think it's because I know they'll figure out a way to be together despite the whole
"fate hates us" bullshit, and I don't know why I find that annoying. I think it might be because I really liked Tory's and Caleb's relationship, and I missed it here. Their banter was incredible, their back and forth so easy and fun and sexy and IDK... Darius has always been an asshole. I'm sorry if I'm stepping on any hearts here, but please. I know he's not doing evil shit anymore, but that only makes him a pining asshole, which kind of makes it worse. I just... the puppy eyes and the I love yous and the crying... I get it. I would've probably been crying if I thought it would be permanent. I do like Darius a lot more than at the beginning. I'm actually starting to feel fond of him. And I LOVE him when he has scenes with the Heirs or with Orion (I'm still fully shipping them together OK? You will NEVER change my mind on this.)
Tory's storyline, especially at the end, reminded me of Vampire Academy (if you've read it, you know what part I'm referring to. It also happens in book 5.) I suppose it was unavoidable, we've been hinted at it for a long time. Still, I didn't like it. It felt predictable and again, boring. I keep feeling that I know how everything is going to be resolved and I wish I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.
The drama with Orion and Darcy though, THAT I loved. THAT was some good angst right there. I was worried their relationship would get stale after a while. Guess I deserved the slap in the face I got, didn’t I?
FINALLY, I’m starting to feel a simmer between Caleb and Seth. Do I like it? I’m not sure yet. I liked it at first, but 4 books later nothing has happened yet, so the whole thing got cold for me. It's frustrating really, the fucking slow burn. It's so so SO slow, it's starting to make me yawn as well. Let’s see if the sparks start flying in the future.
DEFINITE SPOILERS FOR BOOK 5As I was saying, the problem with Darius and Tory. I understand why she said no to him, I really do. We all would’ve said no to the creep who tried to drown us. But afterward? Literally EVERYBODY was trying to get her time with Darius, finding loopholes in this ridiculousness and trying to figure out a way to make the stars change their minds or whatever, and she didn't give a fuck. All she did was sit and cry and pretend to be super strong while giving herself to the shadows.
Why not work together with your friends to see what you could do instead? Sorry bestie, you lost me there.
Maybe the issue I had with this book (and maybe even the series) is that nothing feels permanent. It's like I cracked the code; everything goes to shit at the end of a book, gets patched up at the beginning of the other one and we get more and more filling as we walk through the important plotlines. The only characters who have died so far are minor ones (not that I want our favorite characters to die ok? I'm not a sadist.)
I liked to see the Heirs and the twins working together and I was scared for the Heirs for a while in the final battle in the book, but as I realized who was dying, I fought not to roll my eyes all the way back into my fucking skull. I NEVER liked Diego ok? Never ever. He gives me the creeps. Or gave. Oops. Either way, I'm kind of glad he's dead and we don't need to worry about him anymore. (Though I'm afraid his stinky, dingy hat will keep making an appearance.)
Clara is THE ABSOLUTE WORST and her relationship with Lionel is so fucking creepy it had me gagging. I think she's going to be killed pretty quickly in the next book and I'm so glad about that. I'm worried about Tory... just the thought of staying alone with that creep... IUCK.
I loved that ending. I know I'm a sadistic bitch, but OMG wasn't it spectacularly painful? You can just tell the authors were laughing maniacally as they wrote those few last chapters. I can't wait to see what happens next.
I know I've been ranting a lot about this book but it's just because I'm really invested in the story. I really do love the story and the characters. I can't believe it took me six fucking months to read this, but I'm super interested in seeing where the story goes next and I promise I'll be all caught up by the time the final book comes out next month.

Lionel seeks to hurt anyone that gets in his way while working with Clara and the Nymphs seek to hurt the entire Fae race. Darcy and Tory must try and survive each day as it comes but everything is falling apart and they might be too late.
⤷ This was definitely my favorite book out of the series so far! Maybe because the characters and their relationships are developing as well as the plot!
⤷ My heart is aching for Orion and Darcy! Things were way too perfect for them and it obvious that it wasn't going to last long. But I still have hope for them also Orion annoyed the hell out of me, like seriously? I understand why he did what he did but cmon!
⤷ Seth and Caleb were my least favorite heirs but this book really changed that. I adore the growth they have had and how they are willing to put their differences aside to help the twins and to do the right thing! I have also shipped them since book three so I'm glad to see their relationship grow further into something else!
⤷ We got to read about Xavier in his point of view and more about his mother but I absolutely hate hate hate Lionel and Clara even though I know Clara might not be herself I still can't stand her!
⤷ Max and Geraldine are hilarious! They are such a random pairing yet perfect for each other! I adore reading about them and Max is totally a softie! But I feel like there might be a big plot twist coming, especially about Geraldine!
⤷ I lovedddd Darius' development and enjoyed reading about it through these books. He has always been my favorite out of the heirs and reading about how much he changed in this book was amazing! I adored how much he fought for Tory and all the little moments had together had been so heartwarming!
⤷ At this point, I don't know why I am continually shocked by these cliff hangers! I should be used to them by now yet they still continue to destroy me!

We pick up right where we left off to deal with the aftermath of all the shit storms that happened towards the end of the previous book. That’s where I cried.
Little did I know… It was about to get worse!
Tory and Darius trying to deal with their predicament were heartbreaking. At first I was angry at Tory for putting them in this position, but I know now that she could not have made a different decision. Still heartbreaking though…
Darcy and Orion - that’s where I cried even more, cause these guys did not deserve what happened to them.
The Heirs are growing on me. They must have undergone personality transplants cause they are definitely not the bullies I remember from the first book.
There are some happy moments too so this book is not a total downer but the regret and despair are strong with this one. I keep reading, hoping for SOME good news but the more I read the more shit hits the fan.
The events of the last chapters are creepy af; the amount of enemies, curses and bad luck the characters are facing is staggering. And that’s where I cried again!
Sometimes I wish I could stop and pick up a cutesy romcom, but the problem is I just can’t stop reading this series!!

Darcy deserved so much better. The fact she had to go through all of that pain?? And the ending only makes everything 100x worse and I swear. This book is a testament to how strong Darcy is as a character. Her love for her sister is endless and they way she can still see the best in people after everything they’ve done is so incredible to me. She’s such a strong character and I love her so much.
Tory I LOVE YOU . Tory is so selfless and that ending….. WHY IS SHE SO STRONG AND WILLING TO DO ANYTHING FOR THOSE SHE LOVES AHHH. Tory is so so special to me. Her character growth is impeccable from book 1, and this book just simply destroyed me. The way she grew to love people and she opened up and how she was able to admit she could have made different decisions.. that entire conversation with Gabriel and her was amazingly written. The way he helped her learn that she had to take the blame for her own action’s and couldn’t always put the blame on someone else and she is equally responsible for being star crossed as Darius is and if she had put down her pride things would have been so different and I just love her so much. At the end when she said ‘I love her more than life itself’ about Darcy and at the very very end when she was asked who she loved and even though she was being tortured she was able to say ‘a girl with blue hair and a boy with a dark soul’ I AM IN SHREDS
i just think this plot was amazing. The world expands so much and we get to see new magic, learn more about the world and characters, and we’re also able to see how everything is connected. And I just overall can’t say enough praise for how amazing it is and I’m so surprised. That ending though? Crying. WHY DID IT ALL GO WRONG
DARIUS MY LOVE <<<333 Darius’ growth is so well done and the way he was trying to become a better person and he did everything to prove himself to Tory and how he loved his brother and fellow heirs and Orion so much and just everything about him. He’s so selfless and genuinely wants to make changes in how he’s acted even though he feels like he doesn’t deserve it and I just love him so much.
Caleb !! my sweet boy. Gosh I just love him. He’s so sweet and caring and even though he does make mistakes the way he’s just genuinely nice??? I do adore him. And the way he too is selfless and has had so much growth !!
Seth. Gosh I never though I’d say this but I like him. the way he finally was able to apologize to Darcy and how he grew as a character!! His growth is so so well done and he’s genuinely growing on me. I just love how he’s become a better person. Also. HIS CRUSH ON CALEB??? Sign me up right now for their romance.
Max as always is chill and funny. I honestly love how he wants to make everyone feel better, how he’s honestly really kind at times and overall I just am very shocked how much I like him now.
Orion got on my nerves a bit but I honestly do like his character. The way he just does everything out of love for those he truly cares for. And he needs to get out of his situation ASAP
The romance!! So Darcy and Orion….. I had a feeling what happened would happen. I’m so sad and I’m sort of glad we’ll get angst for them in the future but it’s so depressing that Darcy thinks he doesn’t care for her at all like he was supposed too 😭 ahh.
But! My favourites!!!!! DARIUS AND TORY. Omg. Okay so we have fluff now and angst???¿¿¿ I mean come on. The way they’re slowly learning to love each other and he confesses his love for her and their daily runs and how he grabs her coffee every morning and how he got her a custom bike and THE CLIFFTOP KISS?????? THAT WAS AMAZING. The defying the stars trope and all of it was so well done and I just am heartbroken by the end. The fact that Tory truly loved him that much to do what she did I just love them so much. I swear out of any couple they deserve the most. The casual texting?? TORY BLUSHING?? TORY VEGA?? BLUSHING? And Darius blushing too?? And the way love was described in this book makes me want this type of love. When they were kissing and Tory describes it as ‘he was kissing me as if he’d die if he didn’t and I kissed him as if the world was collapsing but I didn’t care as long as I were in his arms when it did’ or something I mean HELP. THEY ARE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER. And I just love them so so much :(((( every time they were together but couldn’t be close because of the stars and how they’d have the world breaking around them and they’d just stare at each other….. I am gone.
Now. I hope book 6 heals my heart a bit 😭

I’m so fed up with this series 😒
I’m way to tired to explain why I didn’t like it, but yeah in a nutshell: was the drama regarding Lance really necessary?
The girls are supposed to be the most powerful Fae in history and I’m tired to see them lose every single books.
The story doesn’t progress that much and a lot of the big “revelations” were predictable AF.
This book was way longer than it needed to be, especially knowing that it’s the same carbon copy of the previous books.
I went too far to stop now but my expectations regarding this series are not met at all.
