HOLY FREAKING SWOOOOOOON!! This was one of the best books I've read all year! It was pure alpha romance perfection with a strong, feisty heroine, a swoon-worthy cowboy hero, and an utterly gorgeous love story!! I've loved every book Devney Perry has written and this was another top favorite! It was passionate, heart-felt, and sexy, with just enough suspense to keep my heart racing on every page. In my eyes, this was the perfect romance novel. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Since she released her first book earlier this year, Devney Perry has become one of my all-time favorite authors. Her books have the exact perfect balance of everything I love to read about in romance. Her writing flows smoothly and is incredibly engaging, her character development is strong and multi-layered, her stories are emotional, romantic, a little suspenseful, and always full of heart, and each one of her books is unique. I can't praise her writing enough and I literally love every single part of her books. She's one of the few authors whose books I now purchase even before reading the blurb because I've come to trust that the type of stories she tells are exactly the kinds of books I always want to read. Each one is sweet, sexy, suspenseful, addictive, and full of heart -- the perfect romance novel!

Here's the blurb for this book to give you an idea of what it's about...

In the first few chapters, I'd already highlighted more quotes than I do in most full novels. So it was a true testament to the amazing writing that I just could not stop highlighting everything I was reading.

Felicity was a fantastic heroine. She was prickly on the outside, strong-willed, and fiery. I absolutely freaking loved her attitude and the way she wasn't afraid to stand up to anyone. And underneath all her sass, she also had a very soft heart that had never stopped loving the one man she'd left behind over a decade ago when she fled town.

I raised my fist and banged on the door, taking out some of my frustration on its wooden face.
“Coming,’ she called. She must not have checked the peephole because when she opened the door, she sucked in a sharp breath.
Fuck. Why did she have to be so beautifully sad. All I wanted was to pull her into my arms.

Silas was an utterly swoon-worthy hero. He is guaranteed to steal your heart. His devotion to Felicity was so touching and sweet. He had secretly loved her since the very beginning and my heart broke for him. He was a former marine and now cowboy who was given an unexpected second chance to show the only girl he'd ever loved how deeply he cared for her, he wasn't going to lose it.

I was thirty-six years old and this would be my last chance to win Felicity’s heart. I couldn’t risk rushing things and fucking up my chance…
If she wanted to work on the ranch this spring, I’d let her. We’d do this friend thing until then, because once she set foot on the Lucky Heart, I was making her mine.

While they shared a tumultuous, painful, and rocky history, it was undeniable that they loved each other like crazy and belonged together. My heart was racing as I read. These characters' love, loss, pain, happiness, and desires were portrayed so vividly. When reading this book, it felt like I knew them personally and I was so invested in their story.

“Are you every going to tell me what’s going on between you two?”
I chuckled. “Is it that obvious?”
“Probably just to me because I’m so brilliant. And I may have seen you sneak out of her motel room… So spill. What’s going on?”
I sighed. “There’s a lot of history there. Good and bad. Lots of gaps in between. She hurt me once, but even after that, she’s always been with me. Ever since we were kids.”
“You love her.”
There was no use denying it… “Yeah.”

After Felicity moved back to town, I loved the realistically slow build of their relationship. But because they weren't rushing things, by the time they'd worked up to their first kiss my heart was just pitter-patttering all over the place and I was practically breathless. It was incredibly fulfilling to see them find their way back to each other.

“Now what?” She smiled against my skin…
“Whatever you want."
“I want babies,” she declared.
I chucked at her bluntness. “Then stop taking those pills and I’ll give you babies.”

And my favorite thing about Felicity and Silas as a couple was how functional they were once they officially got together. I loved how open they were with their fears and feelings, and the way they always had each other's backs no matter what. It was so clearly 'them against the world' no matter what and I just LOVED that!!

I tried to read this book as slowly as I could to savor it but I was so engaged in the story that I ended up devouring it in one sitting. Luckily, it'll make a fantastic re-read so I have no doubt I'll be coming back to it several times over.

Oh, also... the epilogue is AMAZING!!!!!!!!

“I can’t believe you remembered.”
“I remember everything.”

This is a standalone in a series of standalones. You can totally read it separately if you want, however ALL the books are top favorites of mine so I strongly urge you to read them all. Especially since all the stories take place in the same town so the friendship and family dynamics that build over the series are something you don't want to miss out on. For reference, this heroine is the sister of the hero from the first standalone and this book was kind of set up at the end of that one so if you've read them all you'll immediately know where this one slots into the whole timeline.

This is the complete honest truth: from the day I started blogging, I have never before seen a series of standalones as solid as this one. I've said it before and I'll say it once again because she has proven it each time she writes a new book -- Devney Perry writes the exact kinds of books I most love to read. She has perfected romance. Each one of her books feel unique and each couple’s story has a different place in my heart. And yet they all share the common foundation of sweet and emotional love stories, vivid storytelling, passionate romance, and just enough suspense to keep my heart racing. Those of you who have been following my blog for a while will understand how big of a deal it is for me to say that I love Devney Perry's books on the same level that I love Kristen Ashley and Colleen Hoover's.

If you're looking for an amazing book series to fall in love with, I can't recommend this highly enough! And this book was one of the most heart-felt, purely romantic stories I've ever read!! A top favorite!

PS: these are literally my favorite book covers of any series EVER.

The heroine was a b*tch, I don't have a problem with b*tchy heroines but when one bullies another person then I do have a problem.

She bullied a girl because the girl had curves please I don't give sh*t that she was a high school girl... She should have known better.

She also cheated on her high school boyfriend with the hero and don't use the excuse that she broke with him because the boyfriend certainly doesn't even remember that she broke up with him when he was unconscious.. so I don't consider that a break up.

She also got him hooked on drugs because she wanted to try drugs and he told her he would do it first so she wouldn't get hurt. And you might say that she didn't put a gun on his head but I say if she hadn't said that she wanted to try doing drugs he wouldn't have done it and he wouldn't gotten addicted and he wouldn't have died because of it.

Overall this was just drama left and right..

This series is one of my top faves of small town romance! This Jamison Valley series takes place in a town in Montana, and I am hooked on all the characters lives in each book! The Lucky Heart is the third instalment; and is about Silas and Felicity who are both long time residents of the small town. They have a ton of history- not all good; but luckily they are both given a second chance to give love another shot. Will they be able to move on from the past; or will their love be doomed again?

I will be honest and say this wasn't one of my favourites in the series. I found it to be a bit on the slow side at times, and Felicity drove me a bit nuts on how hard she was on herself. Other than that, I still love this series and I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with all the residents of this town!
I can't wait for future books! I'm still hooked and I'm thinking I will be for awhile ❤️

An easy listening experience too...

The narrators do an excellent job of bringing The Lucky Heart to life. I really enjoyed reading this one and the audio was as good if not better. I will definitely be listening to more from the Jamison Valley series in the future.

**********

An easy series to settle into.

Some books/authors/series are really easy to settle into. Whether it be the style of writing, characters or the setting, you just feel like every time you return, it’s like coming home. Sometimes you get lucky and are able to get all three. I’m really enjoying the Jamison Valley series, love the characters and think that Devney Perry is quickly becoming an author to love. She manages to satisfy my need for strong heroes, feisty heroines and additional characters that grow on you so much, you need to know their story too. I’m loving that I have plenty of time to read this series back to back. On the flip side, I’m hating that I’m nearly out of current stock. I should try and draw it out, but I’m loving them too much to stop.

I don’t think 18-year-olds should be making love-life decisions that could ruin your whole life. We all make bad decisions and the ones made by hormonal, irrational and temperamental young adults, are normally the worst. Felicity, Silas and Wes were too young to realise that one night of mistakes will break them apart. All of them feel guilt, sadness and resentment but don’t try to fix things until it was too late. Sixteen years have past and one of them won’t survive. The two left behind need to work past their heartache and see if the connection that Felicity felt at 18, is still there at 34. A lot of time has passed and it’s not going to be an easy journey to find happiness.

To be honest, while I was comfortably settled in The Lucky Heart, I was very frustrated (AGAIN) with characters that would have a lot fewer issues if they bloody opened their mouths and communicated. Sixteen years of separation would not have happened if they had been honest with each other. Sure, Silas felt betrayed and abandoned, but I did feel like he could have made an effort to see “the love of his life”, in the sixteen years they were apart.

Felicity spent a lot of time apologising in this story. While I do agree that she made some mistakes and acted a wee bit nasty, she acknowledged it and tried to make things right. Silas could have taken a little of the blame for her leaving for so long. Felicity was left in the dark about a lot of things to do with Wes that Silas knew about. He also knew where her guilt was coming from but never tried to lessen the burden or see if she was OK. If you love someone as much as he claimed to, Silas should have at least attempted to connect again. I hated that it was Felicity who had to make the initial move.

I love the journey to love we experience in each story of this series from start to finish. There is nothing better than finishing with a big smile on your face. The Lucky Heart left me smiling and sighing with contentment in my heart.

I wonder in the city girl can tame her Goliath…or maybe Goliath can make the city girl, a country girl? I can't wait to start The Outpost.

I really want to like this series, but I think it's time I give up. This one was just okay, but mostly forgettable. Felicity wasn't a nice person in high school and her boyfriend ended up getting mixed up in drugs. Felicity always blamed herself, so when he dies because of the bad crowd he was a part of after they broke up, Felicity can't forgive herself. Felicity decides to come home to their small town and sees Silas, a guy from her past. Silas was always there for her and they definitely had feelings, but Felicity had dated someone else. When Felicity was single, she and Silas started a brief relationship, but Felicity left town and left Silas heartbroken. Now that she's back, Silas is determined to have Felicity. This one was okay. The two jumped into a physical relationship and it took awhile for them to admit they truly loved one another. I didn't love how Felicity was the "mean girl" in high school and that whole plot line. Sure she had changed, but then she judged other "mean girls" and it all just felt very high school when they were supposed to be adults. Then we had Silas's dad who was super mean to Felicity and I just didn't really care about that drama. All three books I've given three stars in this series and I think it's time for me to give up.

I didn't like this one as much as the other two in the series. The heroine and I just didn't click nor did the love that should have felt bigger for me. Still, I'm eager to read on to the next book !

"Silas, you love that place."
"Felicity, I love you more."

This is a two POV book, told by the POV´s of Felicity and Silas.

I loved Felicity as a FMC, she really worked through her mistakes and her flaws and I kind of liked that this was a book about the woman leaving and coming back and not the man. I loved the snark and the bite she had to her and that she didn´t let people walk all over her. I loved Felicitys and Silas chemistry and I loved the tension, this book has more friends to lovers vibes with a good slowburn. I liked how they worked through their issues together and I really loved how they stode side by side no matter what. I really liked Silas as well, he was always by her side and so gentle and sweet. I simply love the men in the Jamison Valley series, first we get a police officer, then a fireman and now a cowboy? Heck yeah.

Loved the side characters as much as I already did in the other two books. I loved getting to know Sabrina, although I wish I would have gotten more background information on her. But I know I will meet her in the next book, so maybe I will then. Absolutely loved Paxon and his and Silas banter, I really hope I will see more of him in future books. Also loved the addition of Khloe, it really feels like such a warm and welcoming community by now.

Really liked the plot in this one as well, although some of my questions were left unanswered and the plot got a little bit wild towards the ending, but I let that slide because I feel like it will be more thoroughly explained in the next book. I really loved Silas and Felicitys journey and I loved her reconnecting with everybody.

Overall it was an amazing read, that I enjoyed a lot and I can´t wait to get to the next book in the Jamison Valley series.

I have to admit I was worried about getting Felicity's story. She makes a brief appearance in book one and it wasn't a favorable appearance. I wasn't sure how the author was going to get me to like her after that. On top of that, I loved Sila's character so I was already thinking he deserved someone better.

What I learned is that I never should have doubted Devney Perry. When it came time to Felicity and Sila's story, Felicity was on the road to self improvement and forgiveness. I can actually relate to what she was trying to do. I think we all can relate to wanting to be a better person. I have been where Felicity was by trying to suppress my knee jerk reactions to situations. I ended up really liking her character in this book.

The one that really surprised me is Silas. I was really expecting him to go after Felicity like the Alpha male he was. Instead he went slow and steady. I get why due to their past but I will admit, I'm an impatient person and I wanted him to take charge. Despite that, I still very much enjoyed this book. Silas is one of my favorite male characters whether he is laid back or Alpha strong.

This whole series has been a pleasure to read. I love the small town feel. I love all the side characters and I love that we are still getting to read about the couples from the previous books. I'm really looking forward to Beau's story next!

“For those who cross under this sign, may your hearts be lucky in love and in life.”

Book 3 in the Jamison Valley series. Second chance.

Characters
Silas, 36 (Rancher):
One day soon, Silas will fully take over the reigns of The Lucky Heart from his father. However, the transition has had a few bumps in the road as father and son don’t always see eye to eye. Silas is ex military and has had a crush on Felicity since high school. She is the girl he has never been able to forget. “When Felicity was around, I came alive. Her passion sparked my own. Life wasn’t dull or predictable. The mundane seemed exciting.”
Silas is a hot, sexy rancher (both on and off his horse). 🥰

First impression of Silas:
Yum. That’s all I can say. 😁

Felicity, mid to late 30’s:
It appears that Felicity might have been a bit of a bully in high school. Thankfully this takes place at least 15 years after high school and Felicity has realized she was not a nice person back then. She definitely has many apologies on her “to do” list when she decides to move back to Montana.
“Felicity’s Journey Home wasn’t just about rebuilding relationships with family and friends, it was also about making amends with people I’d wronged.”

First impression of Felicity: I met Felicity at the end of Book 2 and she was a big bitch. I didn’t like her at all.

The Story:
Felicity knows that it’s time to move home to Montana and leave Seattle behind. She hasn’t been any help to her brother in dealing with their mom’s illness and it’s time she starts to pull her weight and become a part of her family again. She reconnects with Silas once back home (they had a small thing back in high school) and they have a few issues to work out on their way to their HEA.

My Thoughts:
I was a little confused at first as Silas and Felicity slept together when she came back to town for a funeral and then it moves forward 2 years and they were sleeping together again. What happened in that 2 year gap? I know they weren’t together, but I didn’t get a good understanding of what was really going on with Felicity and the exact reason for her move back to Montana and the timing of it.

Anyway, that confusion aside, this was a good story. It does flip a little between high school era and now, but it wasn’t disruptive. After the first few times they scratch their itch, it becomes a slow burn to them slipping back under the sheets. Silas knows he wants forever with Felicity and he’s a little fun shy about moving to fast. “Now that she was back in Montana, I wasn’t letting her go. I’d play it slow and steady. Put in the time. But one day she’d be mine.”
These two have some good chemistry and once they take the leap they don’t go backwards. Yes, they have some insecurities about their relationship and what they really mean to each other, but it doesn’t drag out too badly.

The drama in the story comes from Felicity’s friends, who seem to have some pretty big issues, Silas’ army buddy and also from Silas’ father, who is a total dick. Silas and Felicity have to work through some past and present feelings, so there are some small misunderstandings that they need to work through, but nothing really major.

I liked this book better than the first two. The story moves along well, introduces some new characters that will have upcoming stories of their own and also brings in characters from previous books that I enjoyed revisiting. I really liked how Felicity was very aware of her past mistakes and was determined to apologize to those she wronged. It showed maturity on he part and I appreciated that. There wasn’t anything about Silas that I didn’t like. He is a rancher who is sexy in and off a horse. 😁

- Do you need to read previous books in series?: This is a standalone love story with recurring characters from books 1 & 2. Both main characters were introduced in previous books in small ways. Reading previous books is not necessary but if you plan to read this series, start with book 1. It will help round out the other characters and add more depth to the story.

Quotes
“Karma was a bitch and she wasn’t a Felicity fan”

“If you’re hell-bent on balancing the scales, you can start taking over my assignments on Georgia’s chore wheel.”
I elbowed his side. “Jess, I’m being serious.”
“So am I. I fucking hate Toilet Tuesday.”

“I was thirty-six years old and this would be my last chance to win Felicity’s heart. I couldn’t risk rushing things and fucking up my chance.”

“Take me to bed or lose me forever.’ ”
His chest shook as he grinned.
Yes! I’d been waiting to use that Top Gun line for a month.”

“We always told each other when jeans gave us mom butt.”

“See all this, Victoria?” I bent down to kiss her soft hair as she slept. Her little nose rested against my chest. “It’s a special place. With you and Mommy, it’s where my dreams came true. Proof that miracles do happen on the Lucky Heart.”

I enjoyed The Lucky Heart it is a second chance at romance for Felicity and Silas who as teenagers had secretly crushed on each other.

Felicity has come home to Prescott to re-connect with her family and friends and to make amends with the people she was mean to. It is not easy for her she feels like an outsider and she still feels guilty for what she did to Wes.

Silas is determined to make Felicity his but first they have to become friends before they get serious as they have already done the angry one night stand thing.

This story is s slow burn their relationship is told over a year time period (I think), lots happen, daily life problems and a few people try and cause trouble between them but these two are strong.

I did enjoy this but it did not hook me in like the previous two in this series did which I adored. I missed the bickering of Gigi and Jess and the cute kid factor and the flirting of Emmeline and Nick.

I am looking forward to the next two books in the Jamison Valley series.

P.S. How could I forget this but I loved all the Top Gun references 😍😍😍

“What I wouldn’t give for him to want me back.”

Some stories are written with so much heart, they leave you in the kind of happy daze that makes you cling onto every last remnant of it for as long as you can, and every one of Devney Perry’s novels to date has made me feel that way. But this book—this delightful, feel-good, at times incredibly moving tale of second chances—owned my heart cover to cover. There’s something about small town romances that never fails to strike a chord with me, their romantic backdrop creating the picture-perfect setting for timeless love stories infused with hope and promise, and the Jamison Valley series is the very epitome of epic love wrapped in small-town charm. This is one of my most beloved books of the year—a story I simply could not get enough of—and this author is quickly becoming a top favourite of mine.

Again, I am a bit disappointed. I was expecting more from Miss Perry. On the other hand, I finished the whole series. I can say the whole series is more mild and less drama.

The Lucky Heart is a story between Silas and Felicity. This is more second chance romance. Silas has been holding out a candle for Felicity since they were growing up. When Felicity ex got killed, they rekindle their romance.

The story is easily enjoyable. I just need more drama into it.

WOW JUST WOW!!!

Devney burst onto the scene with The Coppersmith Farmhouse and as a debut book it was good very good, then came The Clover Chapel and I was like ok can it get better and why yes it did it did indeed I was absolutely blown away. Now here we are with The Lucky Heart and I'm completely speechless I just have no words to say how amazingly good this book was the words just flowed effortlessly with the right amount of everything drama, angst, love they just that perfect!!!!

Silas and felicity grew up together in there small Montana town and after certain circumstances Felicity hightailed it to Seattle and Silas hoofed it to the Army now they are both back home and trying to build a friendship and overcome there past mistakes can they succeed ???

It was also fab to catch up with Gigi, Jess, Emmaline and Nick and find out what they are up to you definitely feel like your part of the crowd whilst reading these stories and I don't ever want them to end I want everyone character we meet to get a story I just love them all that much!!!!

With every book I've loved her men and I don't think I could love another as much but right now (because we still have more to come from her next books) Silas is my leading man he was just the perfect mix of Alpha and sweetness and Felicity she was snarky as all out and I loved it I could definitely see a bit of myself in her snarkiness and it was awesome !!!

If I could I'd give this more than 5 stars ✨ a whole lot more but alas I can't :( it definitely has made my top reads of this year along with Coppersmith and Clover Chapel ♥️♥️

Genre: Contemporary Romance

You know those books that leave you feeling completely fulfilled when you finished them? The ones that leave strong impressions in your mind? And the ones that make your heart ache and pitter patter with love and butterflies all at the same time? This is that book. But to be more accurate, these feelings encompass the entire series. It's been a while since I have been able to stay on with a series. Normally I get a little bored and stop reading after a few books. That's not me disliking the authors work, but sometimes a series gets so built up in my mind that eventually they end up falling flat for me. Too much can be overkill! But I just can't with this series. These books are so strong and call to me every time I see their covers that I simply cannot look past them. Sigh.. I can't get enough.

In this story, love, betrayal (not the bad kind like cheating so don't worry), and second chances are at the forefront of the story. Our hero, Silas (swoooooonnnnn) has loved the heroine for a long time. But she moved away for 16 years and has only seen her a handful of times in those years. So when she comes back into town, for good this time, he knows it's his chance to make her see that they belong together.

Readers will experience this journey with Silas and Felicity as they slowly but surely build a relationship that has been many years in the making. There will be some suspense and drama, but it doesn't override their love for one another. It's just the perfectly balanced book with all the feels!

The only downfall that I had with this book is that I struggled a little bit to connect with Felicity. In the beginning I will admit that I didn't like her character at all. She was just portrayed differently than the heroines of the past two books. But I eventually began to like her as the book progressed and am so happy that her characters finally made her way into my heart.

If you like sweet romances with rugged cowboys, feisty heroines, and a whole lot of love, this book is a must read. Each book in this series (if you haven't had the chance to read them) are complete standalones. But I would still highly recommend reading those too. Devney Perry writes a great romance and she is very much topping the list of my must read authors based on the stories she has written thus far. I can't wait for the next installment.

5 LUCKY HEART STARS!

The Lucky Heart is one of those heartfelt stories that are hard to forget. It's a story of loss, grief, forgiveness, and a second chance at love.

If you read the series in order you would have met both Silas and Felicity in The Coppersmith Farmhouse. Felicity is Jess's younger sister and she's introduced as stuck-up and kind of snobbish upon her first appearance. That alone made me not really like her to be honest, but as I read her story and saw her layers I realized she uses her attitude and anger as a defense mechanism to protect herself. She carries a lot of guilt on her shoulders and in her heart, so much so that she's constantly hard on herself.

Then we have Silas Grant, the brooding ex- military soldier turned farm rancher. He's a sweet and hard man who harbors resentment and a lot of hurt. He put himself out there 16 years ago only to be left heartbroken by the girl he always loved.

Silas and Felicity's story was probably the most heartbreaking. They both had a lot of growing up to do. Their past history played a part in them not being able to move forward. The love and attraction was always palpable, but Felicity especially had to go through self-discovery and learn to love and forgive herself before she could give herself to Silas completely. While Silas never stopped wanting her whole heart.

This book will take you on a journey. Everything interconnects from the stories to the characters. You can't help but love this series with all your being!!
