I was pleased the story had moved on from ‘lost saucers’, he still keeps repeating the same little jokes over and over again, but I still found this a very enjoyable read.

Pretty good end to a good series.

I assume this Is the end? I don't know where else they could take it from here? But in any event, this book, and the series is a whole was very enjoyable. Things did start to seem like they were a bit too easy after book 4, but by then I was pretty much committed to reading the whole thing.

Great story, author needs some schooling

First, let me say that I adore this series and I sincerely hope that Jerry keeps it going for a very long time. His imagination is wonderful, and the books are oddly charming, and very hard to put down.
There's always a but...

Jerry is very good at getting his ideas down on paper, and in a manner that is enjoyable to read. However, he writes awkwardly at times, far too often in fact. Many of his sentences are just a mess in terms of syntax. It's like he doesn't go back and read what he wrote, or speak the dialogue aloud.

He has a habit of coming up with a small joke and then beating it to death, literally hundreds of times. For instance, the main character likes to say "you can call me Bob at first." To which the person addressed is supposed to reply "At first? Then what should I call you?" then Bob replies "Asshole, like everyone else."

Yeah. Not really funny at first, but acceptable. But then it is repeated almost verbatim to almost literally every new character that is introduced. I'm quite serious. There are quite a few little verbal jousts like this, and they get tiresome and frankly, nauseating. Jerry doesn't give his readers enough credit, he's afraid they will miss out on the joke.

But... Another but. I'm an avid reader, a published author (from back in the pre-ebook days) and I'm a former creative writing teacher. Even with these glaring flaws, these books are worth buying and reading. They have a great deal of heart, and the storylines are fascinating and compelling. It is my sincere wish that Jerry continues this series indefinitely, hopefully learning and improving as he goes. He may not be a great writer yet, but he is a masterful storyteller.

Jerry, if I may be of service, I would be happy to help, in any way you would find useful. Seeing you improve and grow would be all the thanks I would require.

Simply mahvelous.

I suppose, if people are just going to read straight through without stopping, there's really no point in side panel chapter info. Or bothering with chapter breaks at all? Got us good, he did. 😎

Still just so much fun to read these. Kind of hope they don't get run off planet earth. I'd miss the retirement home and restaurant and bigfeet and paintball and... Of course, planet Bawb could be a thing.

You have to try this series!

I loved this series, because it is very funny in lots of places, as well as thought-provoking. It has language and situations I would not recommend for non-adults, but the characters all made me wish I could hang around with them.
This is not hard sci-fi, but still kept my attention. In fact, a couple times I looked at the clock and realized I was hours late for bedtime. Enjoy.

The series keeps on going with clever plots an interesting characters

I think the good old boy Missouri hillbilly humor is being toned down a bit so if I could give this one an extra half star I would and call it 4 1/2 stars. There is still a lot of repetition though that is something of a botheration

Of sabotage and wishes for a safe boss.
In a galaxy where robots are required to wear limiters--to prevent them from "stepping out of line"--Bob Wilson treats his bots as trusted employees; people with often more specialized skills and knowledge than he does. He listens, he encourages, and he works with them. Every bot in Bob's employ echoes a similar phrase; "Be safe, Boss, I don't want to work for anyone else."

When Bob works with people who mess up, he mentions a better alternative. When Bob does something wrong, it's usually on a spectacular scale, and he is razzed without (much) mercy. And he takes it as a fair reminder.

No, Bob isn't perfect. He's the unintentional founder and leader of Bob's Saucer Repair. The only galactic repair "garage" on or near Earth. And bad guys are trying to get him killed, or worse, get his wife or friends killed.

To an observer, Bob may seem to have a hefty amount of dumb luck, but his friends--and some foes--would say he has sneaky paranoia and flashes of brilliant insight for a hillbilly. No matter who you ask, there may be some sarcasm. But in the end, everyone who underestimates Bob and his friends, learns the error of their ways or dies in the attempt.

Continued crude language and content, but at a much reduced level than previous books (1-5). It's too bad the author believes these things are necessary. He is mistaken. Bob Wilson is a great character who could have a wider audience without it.

4/5 Stars

Book 6 & still going strong

Jerry has a great sense of humour. I have finished 1-6 & the story still has my attention. There are a lot of good fist books that then proceed to fall apart. If you know Bob Dylan's "Alice's Restaurant" then you might notice "we had another Thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat, got up the next morning ......" & the adventure continues .
Missing though is a pun about one of the characters, Dingus. The Western "Dirty Dingus Magee" with George Kennedy & Frank Sinatra.
A bunch of "hillbillies" with Galactic tech trying to stay under the USA's radar & do good things. Jerry just squeaks by of the plausible side of the line though he does wobble a bit to keep things fun and interesting.
If he is able to conclude the story in Book 7 I'll be surprised. If he leaves me hanging & quits writing O have a dog named Payback & he is going to get the whole litter when she has her pups 😁

I do like this series quite a bit, but I'm disappointed by one thing. The only gay character is portrayed as a bit of a clown and an idiot. At a time of his greatest need the main characters aren't willing to trust him and work to get him a job off-world away from their main interests (and secrets).

While the main crew bring every other new character into their inner circles as soon as they're introduced, with virtually no exceptions.

There's no intentional homophobia and I'm sure this wasn't meant to insult the gays (lol), but you can tell the author doesn't interact with queer people often enough to understand why this portrayal is frustrating.

It's great there was an attempt to include a gay character. I'm not offended and I'll continue to support the author, I just wish this type of portrayal was left in the 90s.

But please don't let anything I'm saying stop you from reading this series. It really is an enjoyable read.

Better and Better

“Fun With Shennanigans” once more! We get much of the same great interplay of characters as we have before, but now we have bonus material! We are beginning to see where “Bob’s Salvage” is heading in the future, along with his faithful company of both blood and bot. “GC” seems to be a fascinating solution to many current issues as well as a great source of (great) adventure. Earth and the galactic community will never be the same! (No, really.)

Definitely recommended for all ages.

Wonderful Series

I really like when a series is so good that after the fifth or sixth book you start to feel something for the characters. It's always been hard for me to remember a book with a lot of different people in it but this series is so well written you have no problem remembering all the characters.
This series is still going strong after six books and I'm still looking forward to all the other the other books in the series. I highly recommend this series .

Delightful, fun and amusing. 🤗

Great story for all ages. Lots of sentient robots. Ships with Faster than Light travel. Smooth fun dialog between characters, well edited. Some corny jokes included. e.g. "You like cereal, don't you. Bob?"
"No Cheerio is safe. I'm a natural born cereal killer."

Not recommended for those that need intense action and/or graphic death and destruction. 💀 😨

Book six

Mistakes: I found three. Two singles that need to be plurals and one word missing it’s first letter.
Plot: Couple of rescues, this book mostly revolves around salvaging a giant ship and interpersonal relationships.
Characters: I liked the wedding and how it was done.
More free bots also receive names.
8/10

Nice Read

Very entertaining book. Personal interactions and characterization are also highly developed. Premise of the plotline is well thought out. I would say this is on a level with some of Heinlein's novels and highly recommend it to all readers who read for their own enjoyment and entertainment.
