I preferred Shock of Birth, but this one still left me unexpectedly blowing into the kitchen roll too. It’s a low simmer that jumps into a rolling boil in the very last moments.

3 for the story + 1 extra star for LeVar Burton's performance and commentary.

Delightful

Listened to this on LeVar Burton Reads. Shorter even for this podcast, but it was very well written, emotional, and magical all at the same time.

Listened to this short story on LeVar Burton Reads and enjoyed it. It’s a small story in scope, but it was interesting and made sense as focusing on a part of this couple’s ongoing life without having to tell their entire story.

cool concept but wasn't really engaging

Listened to this as part of the LeVar Burton Reads popdcast series.
A story about a couple who experiences something supernatural, maybe even miraculous and how they mentally proces it in different ways and how that difference erodes their relationship.
I don't think I quite grasped the deeper meaning of the story, but I actually didn't mind. Even the surface layer is very well written and I can return to this story at a point in the future and see if I get something different from reading it.

Super short story, that explores how a once in a lifetime miracle leaves an echo, a kind of bondage. This is one of those sci-fi stories that is unconcerned with the tech/magic and uses it only as a vehicle for exploring the science of human psychology and relationships. Extremely satisfying, and feels complete. 👍👍

This was a good little story. It isn't a unique concept, but it was a fresh take on it. Readers of short scifi works will appreciate this story.
As an added bonus, I was able to listen to this being read by LeVar Burton.

Levar's reading of this was great. I wasn't in to the actual story until the end. NowI want to know more.
