I may be in the minority, but I think Haruichi Furudate has created dynamic enough characters that I would be perfectly happy to read the kind of "sit in someone's room and talk about not volleyball" chapters he mentions wanting to write.

I love this little character arc for Ryu. It really helps develop him beyond the loud, comedic relief. He has layers!

Fukunaga is such a weirdo. I can't believe I've never paid attention to him before. And Kenma! What a cutie. I love Nekoma so much. They have so many good characters/players on their team.

There's so much to unpack in this volume! First Ryu's moment of doubt then Kenma's little backstory with Yamamoto and now it ends with the stupid Miya twins picking on Nishinoya?? Anyway Karsuno better beat some twin butt so they can meet Nekoma on the court!!!

I don't know how Furudate does it, but he can make your heart feel it's breaking for one character only for you to be filled with absolute glee at another character's actions. ;P

Okay, I feel I should apologize to Tanaka, because technically I don't think Furudate "broke" him, but I NEVER want to see Tanaka depressed like that! That is probably the closest thing to BREAKING him and it was HARD! But man, he is all the more inspiring for his attitude of continuing to tell everyone good job and still calling for the ball. Tanaka is the man!!!

I enjoyed the match with Nekoma very much! That was absolutely great seeing the team's backstory and Tora and Kenma are HILARIOUS! Kenma may not think it, but he definitely has "guts skill"!

It's really interesting to see his motivations and how far he's come. I definitely agree with the announcer person that he is definitely one of the trickiest setters in this tournament and is SUPER smart!

As always, Hinata is helping spur people on even from afar. <3 <3 <3
