Five Nights at Freddy's: Survival Logbook

Published December 26th 2017 by Scholastic Inc., Hardcover 112 pages

Based on the best-selling horror video game series Five Nights at Freddy's, this essential logbook offers night guards new to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza a chance for self-reflection during their first week on the job. Quizzes, lists, and prompts throughout reinforce training, provide room to log in-game events, and allow for introspection on the best qualities of a Freddy's employee--namely, a genuine disregard for instinctive self-preservation.

It's all here in this logbook--just be sure to fill out your emergency contact information first!

I think MatPat sums this up quite nicely: “Basically, the Five Nights at Freddy’s Survival Logbook is a book-length meta game dedicated to revealing Golden Freddy’s real name all disguised as a children’s activity workbook… [It is] simultaneously the most important, most revealing, and most frustrating piece of evidence to be thrown into this franchise.”
And I couldn’t agree more. The mysteries of the lore hidden underneath hilarious imagery (such as Dabbing Chica) make this an incredible asset to the series as a whole. If you’re still confused, just go over to TheGameTheorists channel on YouTube and watch their theories about it. There’s so much more to it than you realize.

This was clearly a kids' book, but fun nonetheless. It's an activity book with various story/fanfic-prompts, drawing ideas, quizzes, etc. The artwork is pretty rad too.

I absolutely love this book. The illustrations are fun and great to look at, and involve the FNaF animatronics we've grown to love being used in unique and silly poses. (I especially love how much Foxy, my favorite animatronic, gets used in this book) The activities are genuinely creative and fun to do, and the sense of humor is Scott Cawthon at his best. You can be sure that this book is also filled with secrets, and just because this book is fun, that doesn't mean it can't be scary at times. I definitely recommend this for any FNaF fan out there who loves the lore, as well as doodling in books.

I liked the cutesy, little lore hints, but I'm a bit too old for this book/activity notebook .

Are you prepared to have a......good time?

Definitely a activity book first and game companion second. You’ll get more out of this if you read each “night” section in tandem with playing each night of the game. Since there are logs for each night of playing the game.
This is vastly more engaging than the average activity book due to the charm FNAF brings to it, but lots will be lost on you if you are not caught up with FNAF.
I have a music playlist dedicated to FNAF so I’m definitely this books target audience.

A large variety of activities to do: drawing, short story writing, list making, create your own comics, word searches, joke creation, activity logging, this or that, quizzes, and songwriting. Pretty much everything except cross Words is in here.

Very humorous, which was rather surprising since FNAF is known for its scares. Some of the art, word choice and pre-filled in answers hint at the deadly stakes of the game. Yet these are oddly funny as hell.
The art inside is wonderful and has such character.
Part of this book is great purely on the grounds of what FNAF is and the story of its creator.
If you like FNAF this is a wonderful addition to the game and fun side reading. Also, a great way to puzzle solve and clue hunt your way into finding out some of the FNAF lore.
There are lots of little hints to the true and real purpose of this book but you won’t notice unless you are attentive or know to look for it. Which is quite suiting with the game it’s tied to.

My only big complaint is this has pretty high expectations of its readers drawing abilities.

Overall, this is great if you like both FNAF and activity books. It’ll also be ok if you just like activity books but with a dark edge and some real personality.

Technically I read the the updated edition to my son which has extra chapters to include the more recent games, but it's basically the same book. It is interesting and amusing at times but is more heavily instructional at times without really using it's 'security ligbook' set up from the cover in any fun way within. I generally found the fan theory sections, disjointed and random and each chapter ends pretty abruptly.

This is a really cool little book - fans of the FNAF series would like to have this as a collector's piece. There's lots of quizzes and activities, and although the tone is trying to be light you can sense the sinister tones underneath throughout.
They even have some pages such as draw your own animatronic, make up jokes for Freddy and some really well designed vouchers for the actual restaurants featured in the universe.
It does not contain any story or lore within but there are some interesting messages written throughout if you look closely..
I won't be filling my copy out personally - but you definitely could if you wanted to!

If you have wanted to read a cringy book that resembles an activity book that you would give a kid to entertain them for a few minutes, but set in the FNAF universe? Then here's the one for you. Seriously, if it wasn't for the occasional question of asking what you wanted to be as a child, I would've believed this was a book for children. This is especially weird, given that it is a horror franchise and the pages have "blood" splattered on them. I really wouldn't recommend giving this one a read, even if you're a huge FNAF fan.

This book isn't for children oh no my friends......................This book is made to spell out the real name of Golden Freddy I know you think am lying but you can even check game theory they solved it anyways I love the illustrations they are simple and not so professional that you might think they are trying to tell you you suck at your illustrations even though you think the series is pathetic I recommend the books you don't need to be a book or FNaF lover to love the books

This book is really interesting because it has lots of mysteries and some lore solved, which is good because there's so much lore that not been solved. I think you should read this logbook. there's a funny image in this book of the character Chica dabbing (dabbing is a pose which represents winning which I think it is. people do it sometimes) anyways this book is good.
