Hometown Girl Again (Hometown #5)

Published July 10th 2018, Kindle Edition 296 pages

How did I end up so frustrated? It’s a question Katherine asks herself every day. First, a surprise inheritance tipped her life upside-down, and now her new RV park is a muddy mess of half-restored trailers. To make matters worse, she’s falling for her first crush all over again. The only thing she’s sure of at this point is a full-blown identity crisis.

Alex came home after a life-threatening wound ended his Army career. Now Katie is back too, and she’s building something called a glamping park? He feels like he let her down years ago, can he make it up to her now? Or are his own problems too much to handle?

Fate brought Katherine and Alex back to Smithville, and the town-folk want to see them together again. Will the couple be able to cope with the locals well-intentioned meddling, or did their second chance at romance disappear a long time ago...

Hometown Girl Again (Hometown Series Book 5) by Kristen Fullmer is all about second chances. This is an emotional story filled with three dimensional characters. The story revolves around the lost love of two people, Katie and Alex. After they both show up back in their hometown for different reasons, Katie for a funeral, and Alex with a life-threatening wound in the Army, they must ask themselves if it is too late to rekindle what they could have had. Katie has the additional burden of an unplanned inheritance from a great Uncle she hardly knew. Filled with meddling neighbors of the best kind, Smithville is a small town that just about anyone would want to live in. Add to that dynamic, the unresolved romance between Katie and Alex, and you have a fulfilling and wholesome story, something that is often missing in today's fiction. Great characters, and a solid plot make this a strong recommendation.

Another heart-warming read from Fullmer, and although I tend to get rather jaded with series novels that go on past three I’m still hooked by the Hometown Girl books.

I felt myself invested and also involved in Katie’s struggles, and was rooting for her and Alex even though early on I wasn’t sure what I’d make of their development together.

Sometimes emotional, sometimes heart-breaking, but a fun to read book along the way makes this a hit from me and Fullmer one of my faves in this genre.

How did I end up so broken? It’s a question Katherine can’t answer. First, a surprise inheritance tipped her life upside-down, and now her new RV park is a muddy mess of half-restored trailers. I thought this was a fun and quick read. I got to know about RV Parks and what it takes to restore all the old Rvs from the 40's, 50's and 60's. Katie and Alex had a love affair the summer they graduated and then he broke up with her to join the Army. She left town and her mother had died. Katie had turned into a hermit and not having friends. So when her uncle passed away and she found out about the inheritance then she moved back to town. Only to run into Alex again. Watching these 2 struggle with their emotions was heartbreaking at times as you knew they still cared about each other.

I received this from NetGalley and Books Go Social for an honest review

Coming home always brings back memories and sometimes we have the chance to do it all over again. That’s what happens to Katie and Alex. They have the chance to start something beautiful, but this means Alex will have to prove he’s here to stay and Katie has to make room for this old love into her heart and plans.

I loved the story very much. Even from the start, the characters’ honesty is very vivid. Katie is back in town to attend her uncle’s funeral. She is honest when it comes to her feelings towards her relatives and her surprise at seeing Alex is genuine. He, on the other hand, is struck with grief at loosing another comrade. Though his injury is keeping him away from army, he still feels it as part of his soul. When they finally meet, their hesitation is so palpable. Kirsten Fullmer did a wonderful job expressing their emotions and capturing every feeling in words.

So we have established that the romance and the characters were very well created. Except that, we see a woman trying to start a business and we see her put her mind to it. We have meddling people, the kind that will put their nose into other’s lives. But it makes the story fun and alive. I liked their “contribution” and it provides that small town feeling.

All in all, I liked this book quite a lot. The reason for not giving all my stars is that there were moments where the alternation between the points of view bothered me. We see too little of one character before moving to the next. Also, I keep wondering, if Alex wouldn’t have gotten hurt, had their love found its place again? Enjoy 🙂

The story starts with the funeral of a distant relative at which Katherine, our leading lady, sees Alex, a former lover, for the first time in years. Katherine receives land and money in the will and decides to start a holiday camping park business. Guess who arrives when she books an electrician to work on site? None other than Alex. The author describes only too well the pent up resentment and tension between the pair and goes on to deliciously tease readers in each chapter with their will-they-won’t-they back and forth. If you like a strong female character that gives as good as she gets as well as a lightweight easy-to-read romance with a happy ending, Katherine and Alex’s story could be just your cup of tea.

Hometown girl again⭐️
Story wise this is the fifth book in the series and I didnt know that when I requested it so my opinion for the plot and characters is slightly useless.
On the other hand, the writing was nice and easy to read. Even though I was confused about past events that happened the story flowed nicey and I was able to follow along.

Thank you so much to netgalley for sending me an ARC copy of Hometown girl again by kiresten Fullmer This will be released on July 10,2018
All opinions are my own.

Fullmer creates a rich world with diverse characters. We get caught in the whirlwind that is Katherine’s life, and ride the roller coaster of emotions. Two lovers brought together despite their external conflicts is a classic theme, but it feels real here. It’s hard not to support these two in the same ways we would our best friends. This story is very rich in raw emotion, and as Katherine works to better her situation (which she has her work cut out for her with the RV park) we see the grit that makes her shine. This whole story is a nod toward renewed life and vigor in every aspect and that everything, from an old lover to an RV park, deserves another chance.
The characters alone get a recommendation from me, give this book and Fullmer a shot.

Such sweet stories — Hometown Girl Series

Such sweet stories. Small town girls finding the men of their dreams. Old friends, new friends, lives intertwined. A most enjoyable series filled with stories that’ll bring a rear to your eye and a smile to your lips.

Every once in a while, I seek out a story on finding oneself. This is such a story, for with the lead characters, Katherine and Alex, you learn that we are never too broken to be unworthy of love, and that there's always a place we can call home just as long as we open our hearts to receiving and giving love.
If you also love reading about meddling neighbors, then be my guest- this book's got a bunch of them. It's also got an adorable dog to boot. Thanks NetGalley for the eARC.

While this is the fifth book in a series, I had no problem reading it as a stand-alone novel. Not a 'serious' read, this is a fun romance bringing together former lovebirds when they work on a common project.

Really enjoyed this book. I love Vintage Campers and I enjoy camping. I live in Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh and know of Uniontown. I was surprised to read the references in the story. Enjoyed the characters. Very Good

I really enjoyed this book. Both characters are changing their lifestyles and coming to terms with their flaws and strengths. A relationship is always about give and take and sometimes that’s a good thing. A significant other can help us bring out the good and curb the bad. I loved watching the park come together too.

I think this series gets better with each story. I loved the vintage campers, and Katie's plan for a glamping park. And I learned a lot about revamping the campers; that was a plus in the book. Katie and Alex have changed a lot since they were teenagers in love, and finding their way back to each other was a good story.

Amazing story

A beautiful story written from someone who has knowledge about the knocks life can deliver and having faith in trusting someone to pull you out of the darkness.
