Maybe Now (Maybe #2)

Published November 29th 2018 by Wattpad, ebook 414 pages

What is more important? Friendship, loyalty, or love?

Ridge and Sydney are thrilled to finally be together guilt-free. But as the two of them navigate this freedom, Warren and Bridgette’s relationship is as tumultuous as ever, and Maggie grapples with her illness.

When she comes across an old list of things she wanted to do “maybe one of these days,” Maggie decides to live life to the fullest and accomplish these dreams. Maggie keeps Ridge updated on her adventures, but he can’t help but worry, even as Sydney grows more and more suspicious about their friendship. But if she’s going to move past this jealousy, she’ll need to reconcile how she and Ridge came together with the fact that Maggie will always be in their lives somehow…or end up walking away from the man she loves so much.

Featuring new songs by Griffin Peterson, this emotive and satisfying finale proves that maybe someday might be right now.

Seriously?? Hypocrite Sydney is still a saint, Cheater Ridge is the best boyfriend on the planet and everyone gets hitched on the same day after all that went down? What a load of bull.
2 stars, that too only for Maggie and the only decent boyfriend she's ever had!

My goodness, this was cheese-galore but I lapped it up like a dog.
I wasn't sure whether a sequel was needed. Maybe Someday ended pretty perfect for me.
But I'm so glad this story continued on. I loved getting to know the characters more. It wasn't just about Sydney and Ridge, but the others too and it was great to see their awkward dynamic come into play and seeing them handling that.

Be aware that the cheese is hard, people. Well, my definition of cheese anyway. It's been grated on every page that by the end of it, you might very well be sick of it.
So, be sure to be in a cheesy mood when reading this.
Or on your period.

I'm really glad Hoover wrote this.

We shouldn’t revolve our lives around their possible endings. We should revolve our lives around the experiences that lead to the endings.

I don’t know why I’ve put this book off for so long. I read Maybe Someday when it first came out and loved it. There were moments in this book I didn’t love, but overall I really did enjoy it. Warren and Bridgette were the highlight for me. The ending was fun and not what I expected. It was nice to get more from Maggie and overall I liked it a lot.

Colleen Hoover basically took my all time favorite couple and ruined them beyond repair. In my opinion it was also an awful interpretation of a person living with CF and I feel bad for anyone with CF reading this book. You could tell by the end even Colleen must hate this book since after taking months off from writing it she came back and rushed the ending with such unbelievable events that it was like a 14 year old writing amateur fan fiction.

Ridge and Sydney were two amazing characters and Maybe Someday ended with them finally coming together yet still having a communication barrier. There were so many awesome directions a sequel could take. How do you navigate a relationship when one is deaf and the other is just learning ASL? What would it be like to travel and tour with a band? What is the deal with Brennen?

Yet Maybe Now doesn't take any of those choices instead focusing on a character that didn't really need a story and that is Maggie. In Maybe Someday she was this mythical perfect woman that Ridge put on a pedestal, the delicate flower that needed to be protected at all costs even Ridge's own happiness. And in the brief glimpse we get of her in the story she is kind of like cardboard and really boring that I didn't care what happened to her.

But even I could admit there is potential for a good story for her like how is it like living with CF? How do you move on and make your own friends and relationships now that the guy you depended on is gone? But we get none of that instead we get Maggie acting like a 2 year old and making her ex boyfriends jump every time she snaps her fingers because she never made any friends of her own.

At this point in the story I was just hoping she would hurry up and die so Ridge and to some extent Warren could finally be free of her.

I won't say anything else that happens in the story in case you are a glutton for punishment and want to put yourself through the torture of reading this book.

However if you loved Ridge and Sydney at all then please please please do not read this book. Because you will hate them by the end of Maybe Now.

I am hoping in a year or so I will have forgotten this story and maybe just maybe I will be able to read Maybe Someday for the 15th time and enjoy it again.

I can’t believe I didn’t know this book existed until today, it was such a delight to continue reading all of these characters stories. I have to say I love each and every single character in the maybe someday world and I’m so happy that I finally read this.

Warning: IF YOU LOVED MAYBE SOMEDAY PLEASE DON'T READ THIS.
This isn't a sequel or continuation to Ridge and Sydney's story, not really this is pretty much Maggie's book and it's an unrealistic and delusional one. I get it this is fiction, but i was baffled at the lack of research displayed in this book towards Maggie's illness and to be honest even disrespectful to people who suffer from CF. Don't let me get started on how everyone was magically "adapting" to thier very messed up situation. The way Maggie kept on tangling herself into everyones lives and how everyone went from 0 to 100 with her ended up being sickengly sweet, unrealistic and straight up toxic. I was never particularly found of Maggie but I could empathize for her situation in MS but this book made her completly unlikable to me and I completely hated how Ridge and Sydney were portrayed, it's like their personalities completly changed and they never were the couple we we're routing for in MS. Im definitely not here for ruining one great book for the sake of making an unlikable character who gets off in playing victim get her way.

Maybe Someday was never my favorite Coho book, but I did love Maybe Not. Since I read EVERYTHING Coho writes, I wanted to give this book a shot. I enjoyed it, but there were many points when I considered dnf-ing mostly because I wasn't interested in the story.

Maybe Now takes place close to the end of Maybe Someday. In this book we get 4 perspectives, it was nice to see Maggie's perspective on things because I always felt she was left out of the situation. Like I said, I enjoyed this book, but I am not invested in these characters and there were a couple things in this book I gave the side eye to. But I think Coho fans and fans of the first book would love this one.

Did I feel the need to have a new book about the characters from Maybe someday? No, I did not.
Did I read said book anyway because I’m trash and I would read everything Colleen Hoover decides to give us? Well yes, of course I did read it!
This book was okay, it didn't feel that special to me. I'm just happy to have read it because Maybe someday is my favourite Colleen Hoover's book and so I had to see what the characters were up to.

This was almost sickeningly sweet. I could have done with less Maggie and more Ridge & Sydney (and Warren & Bridgette!). It would have been nice to see how their relationship evolved without the constant presence of Ridge’s ex in their lives.

Maybe Now by Colleen Hoover. Apparently this book has a 1.5 in between which i thought was #3. She doesn’t have them clearly marked like many authors do. I really enjoyed the first book. This one I didn’t enjoy as much. Fast read, fair amount of romance into brief sex. Not much of a plot.
