Imagine that you've just finished a 550-page door stopper of a historical YA, which didn't even have the decency to throw a steamy snogging session your way. Enter the sequel, with plenty of jokes, sarcasm, and a whole host of PDA which was sorely lacking in the parent story. So HECK YEAH you're jumping on it!



First things first, if you've wanted more PDA from Animant and Thomas, then you've come to the right place. Starting with the missing scene chapter, depicting Thomas' pinning session, and ending with a short story where the protagonists visit Thomas' childhood home. The former comes as a nice confirmation of Thomas' feelings for Animant, while the latter has him unload all the pent up PDA and snogging, that we (not to mention his poor fiancée) had been missing before.

Other honorable mentions should go to:
- the hilariously stilted interactions between Thomas and his future mother-in-law
- Thomas' cute rant-filled love letter to Animant
- Elisa's origin story
- even some of the cute and kitschy drawings



About half of the book is made up of author's notes, most of which were either superfluous, or just plain disappointing. It also reminded me why I found Animant so irritating in the main story: her tendency to spell everything out, as she rehashed her feelings and past events.

If I weren't still riding the Animant-Thomas shipping hype, there's no way I would've rated this more than 2 stars.

Tohle bylo příliš krátké! Ale i tak jsem si ten návrat do světa Kronik prachu celkem užila. Je tam pár dopisů, texty autorky k jednotlivým postavám (to mě moc nebralo), a pak hlavně několik bonusových kapitol. Skorokonec z pohledu pana Reeda a Vánoce Animant a Thomase u jeho rodiny jsou samozřejmě top, k tomu je tam setkání Rachel a Henryho a Eliza. Taková hezká jednohubka. No, radši bych nový román.

Es war wirklich schön noch einmal in die Welt von Staubchronik einzutauchen 😍. Für alle, die dieses Buch interessiert, es handelt sich hierbei um KEINE Fortsetzung 😄. "Animants Welt" enthält ein paar Briefe, wunderbare Kurzgeschichten und einen kleinen Einblick hinter die Kulissen 😊.

Weil mir "Animant Crumbs Staubchronik" sehr gut gefallen hatte, war es für mich keine Frage, dass ich mich auch "Animants Welt" widmen würde, allein schon, weil ich hoffte, mehr über die Ereignisse nach "Animant Crumbs Staubchronik" zu erfahren. Und glücklicherweise wurde ich nicht enttäuscht: Auch wenn das Buch relativ kurz ist, erfährt der Leser durch Kurzgeschichten oder Briefe noch, wie es mit Animant und Mr. Reed weitergeht. Außerdem wird auch mehr über die anderen Figuren berichtet, was deren Hintergrund ist und, was die Autorin sich für sie gedacht hat.
Das ist insgesamt sehr praktisch, um noch einmal tiefer in die Charaktere einzutauchen, und so setzt man sich automatisch viel intensiver mit dem ganzen Buch auseinander.
Weiterhin ist das Buch auch wirklich schön illustriert, ich hatte es zwar nur digital, aber trotzdem sahen all die Charakterbilder und auch die anderen Zeichnungen wirklich schön aus und haben das Buch noch lebendiger erscheinen lassen.
Alles in allem ist "Animants Welt" ein schöner Zusatz für alle, die sich noch einmal zurück in die Bibliothek nach London träumen wollen, um dort noch einmal Animant, Mr. Reed, Elisa und all den andern zu begegnen.

i like when additional books bring me something extra and this one has fulfilled it perfectly. it has a lot of information about the characters and their creation, illustrations and a few mentions of the world, whether fictional or true. at the same time, you can read the story of the side characters from their point of view, which is great. there are also added letters and key quotes from the first book, so i really enjoyed it.

Doplňková knížečka k dokonalé knize Kroniky prachu! Ale budu také upřímná, kdybych tolik nemilovala původní knihu, tahle kniha by asi nemusela vůbec být. Chci tím říct, že pokud jste nečetli původní román nebo ho snad zda-li je to možné nemáte rádi, pak se do této jednohubky nepouštějte. Ovšem já jako milovce Animant a Thomase jsem si i toto pokračování užila. Autorka si pro nás připravila představení všech hlavních postav včetně pěkné ilustrace. Kroniky prachu pár stránek navíc bylo velmi miloučké čtení s dokonalým vizuálem. Knihu jsem měla přečtenou za pár hodin a krásný pocit mi po ní zůstal daleko déle. Osobně bych přelouskala i deset takových různých dodatků, protože příběh Kronik prachu asi nikdy neomrzí.

2,5 hvězdičky...nebo tři? Stále se nemůžu rozhodnout.
Z Kronik prachu jsem byla na jaře loňského roku nadšená, více než pět set stránek plných krásného jazyka, atmosféry devatenáctého století, dokonalé slow-burn/hate to love romantické linky, kterou já prostě můžu. Hlavní hrdinku Animant Crumbovou jsem si zamilovala a mrzutého knihovníka pana Reeda jakbysmet.
No a když se ohlásilo, že bude vycházet doplňková knížka k nim, nemohla jsem být natěšenější. Což možná pak zapříčinilo tomu, že jsem teď po dočtení dodatku, Pár stránek navíc, docela zklamaná.

Ano, najdete tu recept na čajové sušenky slečny Sophie, pár zajímavostí ze zákulisí, náčrtky autorky, několik dopisů...a dokonce i kapitoly z perspektivy pana Reeda, Elisy Hemmiltonové, Rachel Cohenové, potěšila mě i část o společných Vánocích Animant a jejího snoubence...
Nicméně si myslím, že z toho všeho šlo vytřískat mnohem víc. Nějak jsem se stále nedokázala začíst ani do jednoho kusu příběhu, přišly mi jako vytržené z kontextu, podle mého se daly zakomponovat lépe.

Za must-read po Kronikách prachu bych knížku úplně neoznačila, není pro mě ničím přelomová, ale náladu vám zlepší a budete se alespoň na chvilku vrátit do viktoriánského Londýna. Pokud budete chtít obdarovat Kronikami někoho blízkého, dodatkovou Pár stránek navíc k nim ovšem určitě přihoďte, ušetříte jej od té knižní kocoviny, která po příběhu Animant a pana Reeda jistojistě přijde a dotyčný vám za to bude vděčný😁

Aw, das war so schön die Welt von Animant Crumb und Thomas Reed zurück zu kehren und auch mehr über die anderen Charaktere zu erfahren. Das Büchlein ist gespickt mit Anekdoten der Autorin wie sie zu der Geschichte und ihren Figuren kam. Es gibt Briefwechsel zwischen den Charakteren und wir erfahren, wie es nach den Ereignissen aus den Staubchroniken weiter ging. Für mich war das eine super schöne, kleine Ergänzung zum eigentlichen Buch. Besonders die letzte Geschichte hat mir unglaublich gut gefallen. Jetzt habe ich Lust auf Weihnachten 😂

Este libro no es exactamente una segunda parte, sino un complemento a la lectura de «La biblioteca de los sueños imposibles». Incluye cartas, dibujos y relatos de cosas que pasaron antes, durante y después del libro principal, desde la perspectiva de Ani pero también, por primera vez, de Thomas y luego algunos secundarios como Eliza (que tendrá su propio libro y estoy rezando fuerte para que nos lo traigan en español también). También hay notas de la autora diseminadas por el libro en las que nos explica en qué se inspiró y cómo fue el proceso de creación de algunos personajes.

Me ha parecido maravilloso. A lo mejor creéis que este librito solo es «fanservice», para vender más, pero de verdad, de verdad que no. He adorado todo el contenido y me ha parecido perfecto e ideal, porque yo realmente quería saber MÁS sobre esta historia y estos personajes. Todo lo que se ha incluido en este libro me parece un acierto porque permite conocer mejor a los personajes y algunas cosas en las que no hubo tiempo de profundizar en «La biblioteca de los sueños imposibles».

La edición es magnífica y está muy cuidada, las ilustraciones son preciosas y ayudan a enamorarse todavía más de la historia de Animant y Thomas, después de «La biblioteca de los sueños imposibles», que es una historia que siempre recomendaré, en especial a los amantes de los libros.

Kroniky prachu zbožňuju, ale tohle bylo celkem k ničemu 😅.
Čekala jsem víc kapitol z pohledu pana Reeda a Elis.
Fakta o tom, jak vznikala kniha, byly sice zajímavé, ale ne natolik. Proto jsem tak úzkou knihu četla víc jak týden.
Zakončení z pohledu Animant se mi líbilo. Ale přesto dávám 3,5-4/5.
